Wigan Fan Starts Bar Brawl.

I spent a few hours working from Wigan fire station last night. Whilst there I read a Wigan based paper, the Wigan Reporter. In it I saw the report about a bar brawl in Darwen which was started by a Wigan fan throwing a glass and involved Bolton fans.

The Wigan reporter reported like this.

This morning I read a report in the Bolton News reported the same incident like this.

Amazingly, the Wigan lad admits his wrong doing but the paper concentrates on the fact that the Bolton fans provoked his reaction; which was to launch his pint glass into a group of Bolton supporters.

When reading the Wigan version I thought that maybe the wigan fan must have been the real victim in all of this!

I'm not seeing any difference in how either is reported as both have the same quotes saying why he threw the glass, or am I missing something?

Wigan

Charles Brown, prosecuting, said that shortly after 5pm on that day last March some Manchester City fans started to congregate in the pub and seemed friendly and polite. A short time later, two other young men entered ? one of them apparently making a phone call requesting others to attend.

A further 20 then went into the pub and began singing songs, indicating they were Bolton Wanderers fans. They were being vocal and aggressive.

Mr Brown said: "The whole atmosphere in the pub changed and became very tense. There were in the pub a number of other regular customers, including young women and at least one three-year-old child.

"In this atmosphere, the defendant, who was described as having a roll-up cigarette in his mouth and a pint glass in his hand, threw the glass towards the group of Bolton supporters.

"Not surprisingly, they retaliated. He was assaulted, the cigarette was thrown from his mouth and a large scale disturbance then took place."

As long as they had fun ^_^

Wigan fan + glass = trouble

Wigan fan + glass = trouble

Only because they have to many fingers so it slips out of there hand. The Wigan lad was most likely trying to wave at the Bolton fans.

Me and a couple of mates were in the bowling green in Horwich after the wigan match at the Reebok on dec 28th and there was a group of 4 wigan fans sitting there..... they started singing "wanky wanderers" and other songs and were told politely by me to shut the f?ck up or get outside" they went quiet as a mouse until they walked out and one of them launched a pint glass at me and ran.

'it missed but it shows what tossers that they are.

Its an inferiority completx, they've had it for years.

No wonder people can't understand Wiganese!

The figures are included in a report presented to Wigan Metro's cabinet, which also reveals there are currently more than 500 asylum speakers living in the borough.

That's a language and a half that is. Anyone fluent in Asylum?

I don't understand their acronyms either
