They were actualy refering to Steve Bruce and the job he`s done at Wiggin and not about Megson. Another job done by the ginger one so no complaints about him. Give the bloke some money and see what he does during the summer months.

Everyone is entitled to there opinion, but are some of our fans looking through rose tinted glasses, the style of football was garbage in the last season we qualified for europe, the cracks began to show on new years day at liverpool the long throw was sussed out and never contributed for 12 months before Sam left, I have had my concerns about Megson but I think the job he is doing in quietly, slowly and methodically rebuilding the squad is decent, the style of football is also steadily improving, I really don't get it when people quit watching the team halfway through a rebuilding job, my message to those who want to quit on the club is simple good riddance your negativity is dragging us down anyway, 15,000 behind the team and club is better than 20,000 with 5000 whingers, dont think you will be missed.

So what you are saying is that a few thousand less turn up next season but are all fully supportive without a moan or a groan? Somehow I dont see this as reality. If next season does start in a similar way with a couple of dull 0-0 scores, bit like the WBA and Rovers games, of course you will get a percentage of fans who arent happy.

 

The answer has to be to encourage fans back by playing in a different way to this season. I know we survived again, but I dont just want to be entertained by the opposition playing football. Our possession stats in games overall must be around 40% and that definately needs improving.

For me it's not Megsons tactics that are the problem it's the players inability (through choice or not) to get up in support of Elmander quite often he'll recieve the ball with no one within 30yds of him! Plus the lack of a midfield ball player we've plenty of 100% workhorse type players (McCann, Muamba, Cohen, JOB) and only young Davies or an out of position Gardner with a bit of guile in the centre

West Brom's problem was a leaky defence. If we had their midfield we would be a top 8 side without a worry over relegation.

The point that you seem (and I apologise if I have misread you) to have missed in the 'play like West Brom' comment is that the relegation 'Roll Of Dishonour' is littered with the corpses of teams who were 'sticking to the managers principles of attacking football'. West Brom is the current example. There are plenty of others and you don't have to think too far back to the time when it was us.

I am happy to see a further pragmatic approach, albeit a different one, being applied by our current manager. Excellent post and I agree wholeheartedly, I might add if your a Bolton fan, you have to have a certain amount of thick skin, do not expect the easy ride, it will be a tough long and winding road, full of ups and downs, but each twist and turn can be memorable and the full gambit of emotions will be felt. Now if you want plastic version of being a football fan go and watch the rags or 1 of the top teams that you have no connection with to me that is a sham and empty experience.

That was a very long winded rant. Other than my saying WBA had some decent midfield players, two or three we have tried to sign recently, what's your problem? Have you got Megson on the brain as you seem to mention him every post?

Thats bullshit, their midfield offers no protection to the back four who quite often get overrun. Theyve conceded 64 goals this season which is more than any other club in the league. West Brom's midfield have combined for a total of 15 premiership goals while Boltons have got 16.
