Had the radio on for the last few hours. Proper stressful. Great entertainment. Gillespie (wheels on the house) and Stewart (Alec) were doing the punditry and were superb. Very funny.

But 4 centurions and Clarke topping any of our batsman with 80 doesn't really bode well for ourselves.

We scraped home. The rain helped - let's not forget.

Radio phone-in is now disassembling our team.....

Broad out, Harmy in. Monty out, Onions in.

Strauss out, Key in.

etc, etc.

those 2 changes sound good to me

Great TV and a good effort from the tail, now for the realism I woul back the Aussies to win in 4 days at Lords and to win the series comfortably, hope I am wrong and will be shouting the team on.

I agree with that but think they will stick with Broad especially with him offering more with the bat

I just dont understand why people talk about Key for England, he isn't good enough

If we manage to get a draw out of this ill show me arse on the town hall square..

Yes well ermmm

Drop Pietersen

There's no "I" in team, except in South African.

And bring in who?

Lot being made of the delaying tactics when the 12th man came on with the gloves and the physio came on towards the end of the day,

and this coming from the nation who bowled under arm against new zealand in the world series in 81. nobbers

I thought that the Aussies probably played as well as they could throughout the 5 days but could not beat an England side that did not play as well as they are able. I think England will improve as the series goes on so I am quite optimistic.

It was a superb 1st test and I cant wait for the 2nd on Thursday!

Whilst Collingwood was the hero - looking at the stats, he scored 74 from 245 balls. Now then, correct me if I'm wrong, but had he knocked a few more runs during this innings, say another 35, then it would not have been so tense at the end and we could have drawn a little more comfortably.

One of the more astute cricket fans can put me in my place and explain his lack of runs.

England were crap and didn't lose; the aussies should be concerned

5 days and all you get is a draw...humph

As a sudden death finish why cant they do 10 pea rolls of the ball blindfolded, winner is whichever side gets the most wickets

That or paper, scissors, stone

The situation required him to bat like that, he isn't high quality classy shot maker he's one that will dig in, he needed to bat time and thats what he did. Fair enough a few more runs would have made it a safer draw but with trying to score runs and bat with the tail it would have been a risk that we couldn't afford to take, he turned runs down to stay on strike

Surely this should be in a new thread?

Was going to however it's cross over from the last test to the next :good:

Would have helped if the top 4 batters hadn't gone for next to nowt.

Fair play to Colly for digging in and glueing some partnerships together :yahoo:
