Arnold Jackson Posted August 22, 2009 Author Posted August 22, 2009 Zat Knight did his job quite well today Have to disagree... headed the ball up in the air for the goal and was woeful when it came back How anybody can complain about Knight when weve got robinson in the team is crazy The reason I am complaining about Knight is that the fella is obviously no footballer. I don't so much mind the full back signings as if they are rubbish we have options. At 4.5 million and with how high profile he is... we bought Zat to play every game as first choice centre half with Cahill. I'm extremely disappointed cos I don't really watch opposition defenders and I hoped he could play at bit! He just hoofs n hads the ball anywhere. I knew how bad Robinson was and I know we have better... JLS, Gardner, Taylor can all play left back! WE have AOB and Shittu to replace Zat Knight so everyone knows he's gonna be first choice. I genuinely upset to find out he's that bad! Just after the goal we got a corner... he came up for it... on his way back he found himself with the ball in midfield... he passed it straight to one of their forwards and they should have scored again. A miss from the American debutant saved us!
newquay central Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 knight is a good center half and his performance was much improved on last week .Robinson though is a shocker to slow and gets caught out of position to much. He will get mullered next week off kuyt . j loyd s got to start for me.
ZiggyStardust Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 aye it was Would that be his debut after his debut, as he played for us against Sheff U on the last day of the seaon 2 years Earlier. Kev D made his ebut that day however ....
L/H Lad Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Went to the game today i thought knight was awfull, far to clumsy.4 million
Matt Lofthouse Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Didnt think he was too bad today, Ive seen worse recently Cid, Michalik, Shittu Obrian... Not worth 4 mill tho.
MrSiborg Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I think Knight will do alright for us. He's new to the team so he's need to settle in plus the fact that the rest of the team is playing sunday football is sure to rub off on him. When Anelka or Youri signed did you notice how there play rubbed off on others. It's the monkey see monkey do scenario.
banktop wanderer Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 but Ronaldo looked shite after 2 games  and every vile fan i have spoke to rated cahill and was sorry to see him leave
bwfc2003 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Sorry to agree but knight is shite and robinson is fecking shite
HomerJay Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Sorry to agree but knight is shite and robinson is fecking shite i wouldnt say they are shite, the are solid average players. robinson is a defensive improvement on samuel, but certainly not attacking improvement. knight is barely an improvement on an 'in form' aob. hopefully knight will be a little more consistant and he does seem better in the air.
Colonel Mustard Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Agree we've got to give the lad time to integrate etc., BUT there were a couple of very alarming occasions on Saturday where Knight was so static in the box it was frightening. At one point he had his back to play, was facing his own goal and let a Hull player in for a clear chance on goal. I haven't seen such basic bad defending for a long time. I'll be honest - I'm fkin worried...
tonyw_bwfc Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 robinson is a defensive improvement on samuel, but certainly not attacking improvement. knight is barely an improvement on an 'in form' aob. hopefully knight will be a little more consistant and he does seem better in the air. in the two games I've seen I am not too sure about that! He definitely offers a lot less going forward though As for Knight, it takes a bit more time to settle into centre half keep him in there and let him and Cahill get used to each other. If, he trips over his own feet / misses a simple ball that costs us a goal then I might change my mind though :D
TravellingWanderer Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I don't think any of the new signings have been helped by the fact that 3 of the back 4 are new. Normally if you bring one player in, then the rest of the defence are used to playing alongside each other and they just have to work on integrating one player into the new system. I just think that it will take time for them all to get used to each other, personally I would only have brought Knight in, though if Steinsson was injured then I suppose it would have to have been two of them. If Knight is as good as an in form AOB then he is by definition an improvement as I don't think we have seen the best of Knight yet, I do feel that he will form a good partnership with Cahill. I wasn't too disappointed with the signing of Robinson as cover for Jlloyd but not as a replacement, hopefully Jlloyd will keep his place for the next few games. Still not decided on Ricketts, I feel that he is a similar player to Steinsson and with a few more games as part of the new unit we will probably see this.
