Managerial Shortlist

Just got me thinking, if we don't pick up any more than a point from our next 4 games, then we would have the same amount of points from the same amount of games as Sammy Lee did from his start to the 2007/08 season.

Birmingham (a)

Spurs (h)

Man U (a)

Everton (h)

At the moment i can see us getting maybe 2 points but not much more, so if Gartside was to wield the axe, what managers would we be able to bring in. I've had a look and come up with a list below which goes from the very sensible to the downright ludicrous.

What do you think of our would be (limited) options?

Phil Brown

Owen Coyle

Stuart Pearce

George Burley

Gary Johnson

Alan Irvine

Nigel Adkins

Simon Grayson

Paul Tisdale

Keith Hill

Gordon Strachan

Alan Curbishley

Paul Jewell

Glenn Hoddle

Bryan Robson

Kenny Dalglish

Bruce Rioch

Warren Joyce

Slaven Bilic

Morten Olsen

Hector Cuper

Radi Antic

Otto Rehhagel

Jurgen Klinsmann

Vanderlei Luxemburgo

Roger Lemerre

Luciano Spalletti

Alberto Zaccheroni

Arrigo Sacchi

Michael Laudrup

Diego Simeone

Jairzinho

Romario

Hristo Stoichkov

Antonio Conte

Neil McDonald

Alan Thompson

Mixu Paatelainen

Youri Djorkaeff

Jay Jay Okocha

Gary Speed

What about Roy Keane, i think he would be good

The same Roy Keane that got sacked at Sunderland and is having a miserable time at Ipswich?

Cheers Traf, and for tuther thing too

Always a pleasure, never a chore. :D

Big Sam, he could prove how much he loves BWFC and walk out on Blackburn. Curbishley could do a job.

Have you seen Blackburn of recent ? there just as shit as us as were his Newcastle side and his last 6 months of being a Bolton manager was piss poor as well stay well clear of Fat Sam he isn't what we need , although i do agree on Curbishley the question is will the cotnee come up North ? :pardon:

Roberto De Matteo

Roberto De Matteo

I doubt he'd leave West Brom so soon, if at all.

Gordon Strachan

Don't think Super Kev Would be too happy if Strachan got the job

Gordon Strachan

His most recent job and DMB history put me off but, if you analyse his Premier League management career, short though it has been, it is fairly impressive. If he got us to an FA Cup final and 8th place in the Prem we'd be slightly chuffed.

Originally, I would have said iamout but, on reflection, he or Curbishley would be a step in the right direction IMO.

I was told by a bwfc official that strachan was on their list last time

Alan FCUKING Hanson. Rather have Bo Hanson.

I'd rather keep Megson that have Gordon frikin Strachan!!

Colin Todd's a strong manager - he's holding up the entire football league right now.

What happened to the shortlist we always used to get for these kind of jobs? George Graham, David O'Leary, Roy Evans, El Tel, Paul Jewell, Sourness etc? Answer - half will probably get an interview.

To be honest, we'll probably got for Gary Flitcroft 'cos he's local and cheap. Paul Moulden runs a tight ship at his chippy up Tonge Moor, got football experience, what about him? Tell you, there's loads of talent about if you look.

Or we could stick with what we've got.

Aye, and other managers are going to be falling over themselves in a rush to get the job here, so they can be the next target of football's most fickle fans.

Flitcroft is in charge of Leigh Genesis and probably wouldn't leave there.

Paul's chippy is in Tonge Fold, he doesn't fancy it either.

Tony Kelly is now favourite on WWBet.

Is Mark Winstanley still driving for Warbys? I'm sure his employers'll give him the time off to do it!

Gordon Strachan

Gordon got me thinking, what about Gordon Sharrock, must have a bit more time on his hands now he isn't full time BN correspondent, knows the club inside out with all them breaking news stories he used to tell us (or pinch off here). I reckon I am on to something....

Whoever the next man is, he will be a yes man to Gartside.

He will be more popular and more successful than Megson though.

That rules out Barry Knight and Ian Huntley on day release then.

And that's debatable!
