There is always The Greyhound (http://www.sportinglodgeinns.co.uk/Leigh-Hotel) it's cheap and cheerful (well, not so much cheerful as grim.......)

It came up as Wigan, Lancashire

I can pick up and drop off again at Newton.

 

Park Inn is best bet, followed by the Greyhound, but its a bit grim nowadays. There is also a Travellodge type place at Lowton.
