Bsa To Undergo Heart Op

Get Well Soon Big Sam!Thanks for the memories, and ripping the heart out of our backroom staff when you went! :good:

I don't understand the swell of good will towards a man who is partially responsible for our club's current plight..

The history of BWFC will have his name figuring prominently. Get well soon Sam and thanks for the memories.

Have to agree there bolty 58 :drinks:

Allardyce ripped the heart out of our club when he resigned for a "much-needed long break from football". He created instability and topped it off by taking half the bloody staff with him.

Yes, we had the European adventures, but the aftertaste is hard to get rid of.

Traf, everyone is entitled to their opinion and, yes, your views have obvious merit. Looking at the big picture, however, BSA transformed the club in my view. Everything was optimistic 'onwards and upwards' stuff until near the end. The absolute antithesis of what we have now.

It wasn't just the Euro adventures. As Lever Ender in LA said, regularly knocking off the big boys, cup runs, players of world renown I would never have believed would pull on the historic white shirt - the whole shebang was sheer excitement for those of us who went through the doldrum years.

I don't see the fat; the brown paper envelopes; the inflated ego. I see only a Bolton Wanderers legend and nothing will ever taint that for me.

Get well soon. I would never wish bad health on anyone who hasn't committed a serious crime. Things like this put football into perspective.

What do you call serious?

Fraud?

The envelopes and the ego are enough for me to dislike him.

aye get well soon big man ........we never had it so good.

The envelopes and the ego are enough for me to dislike him.

Envelopes? The only ones I saw were the ones mocked up by panarama in their back offices, while they played dramatic music in the back drop of dark streets as if we were expecting to see Big Sam appear from behind a corner. Have you seen something different from the rest of us in relation to brown enevelopes?

And as for ego, I prefer the term self belief, without that he wouldn't have had the success he did with us.

I didn't like the way he left, but as others have said I won't let that taint the memories he provided.

And for his heart op I can only wish him all the best.

why no legal case against the beeb then like he kept threatening?

no smoke without fire me thinks.

I appreciate what he did for BWFC but i just can't stand the fat twat after the way he left and the way he keeps having the odd pop in the press now and then.

You read my mind.

None of us know one way or the other whether he's guilty. Stop pretending otherwise.

Why the need to prove his innocence? He's found two jobs since so it hasnt affected his job prospects.

Lengthy court cases have only one guarantee, making lawyers richer.

And anyway, you can be cleared of any wrongdoing, and still have to pay the other side's costs.

Back to the guarantee

i'm tempted to think sam didn't do owt wrong

im pretty well convinced somebody else did, somebody sam wouldn't want to implicate

his record at bolton stands comparison with the best

we were on the slide when he left

his signings since he left us are politely described as 'average'

why no legal case against the beeb then like he kept threatening?
Three reasons spring to mind.

Money - He could win the case but get perfunctory damages or not be awarded costs. He'd then be out of pocket

Publicity - Bringing a court case would keep the accusations in the public eye that bit longer.

BWFC - The defendant in a libel case has the right to demand any documents from the plaintive that he considers relevant. That could have been embarrassing to Bolton Wanderers.

but surely clearing your name from any suggestions of wrong doing would negate the finacial cost especially to someone paid as much as Allardyce. and by clearing his name he'd publicly prove the Beeb wrong.

He's proven since leaving he couldn't give a shite about BWFC so why would that stop him

I don't think he gives a fuck about BWFC. You can replace that with Sam Allardyce would never appear where Sam Allardyce couldn't say what Sam Allardyce wants, when Sam Allardyce wants. A court isn't the place for old walrus face.

Good Point! If id had my name dragged through the mud and had the opportunity to clear it then i would go all out no matter what to do that,it's principal of it!For me Big Sam is hiding something!

Check out the price of top notch barristers. The BBC would appoint one and Sam would need one too.

At the time he was an employee of the club, had its backing and was still on good terms with the chairman. Why jeopardize that for a case that he was by no means guaranteed to win?

Libel cases are always messy, and as a rule they are only worth undertaking if you've got enough evidence to get the other side to settle before it gets to court. That wasn't the case with the Panorama programme.

Murder, rape stuff like that. I wouldn't wish ill health on someone for committing fraud.
