Wanderers 4 Lincoln 0 - Fa Cup 2nd Jan 2010

They'd better put in the temporary stands for the return of Megson's Millions.

serious question for those who didnt go today and sat on here looking for scraps of info, what was the reason for your non-attendance?

i dont understand why fans dont turn out for cup games. i understand it from years gone by when we used to scrape a team of reserves and youth together. but these days we always put out a near full strength team.

and when tickets are only 10 quid a pop, i dont understand why people wouldnt go?

am i missing something?

Couldn't be arsed. Is that good enough for you?

its a simple question, calm down.

just wondering what happened to the "magic of the fa cup" and is there such a thing anymore?

Live in Northampton.

Made it up for the game against Hull - SHITE.

Season ticket holder.

Had it been Lincoln away I would have gone.

As it was I went to Saracens v Leicester RU

Now in Watford..................

Homer, if you'd have come and dug me out of the snow: I might have bothered.

Now get off your fucking high horse, just because you turned out.

Ricky G . MOM for me today.

SKD passing was terrible today.

great sub at H/T

what the fuck are you on about!

its just a fooking question!!!

ffs!

We were pants, but in the end our superior quality got us 4 goals from pretty much our only 4 shots on target.

Gardner's inability to trap a bag of cement lets him down big time when he's in the middle of a midfield 4.

hopefully the confidence will come back over the next couple of weeks and the players perform as they can do more often

I am a diehard but i nearly did not go today,it was boring, well in the first half it was, maybe they did not have the money or had a valid reason

i dont care if people go or not tbh,you go or you dont

Laid up with a bad back for 8 weeks, otherwise two of us would have been there - despite previous cup let-downs & the freezing weather.

11,193 compares very well with 8,050 against WHU in the League Cup. Looks like an extra 2,000+ BWFC fans turned up. Let's hope the Board builds on that with the pending appointment and the January transfer window.

:good:

ive been asking myself the same question all afternoon too.

first team, cheap tickets, no megson, 3pm saturday, not on tv...

thank fuck for snow eh.

Yes but if no fucker bothers going we wont have a team to talk about on message boards . What happened to the thousands who wouldnt go until megson was sacked???

No Lincoln brought th extra 2k fans, Bolton fans couldnt be arsed

i did nt go because i could nt be arsed.

i do not feel i have missed anything by not being there.

i hope people who went enjoyed it and went to the game because they wanted to.

You are correct, it was a simple question.

the weather was a factor today, i noticed a lot of Lincoln fans didnt arrive till late, and obviously individuals have their own genuine excuses, but there were 17,000 empty seats today despite the reasons i listed above - there is summat drastically wrong with that!

how much were tickets at spurs today? Att: 35,862...

Well i for one cant do nowt about it so i am not gonna get worked up about it,seen us play in front of 4,000 for ten years so 11,000 not so bad :D

1000s

There was more on today than if ginger would have still been in charge.

Apparently they were late because there were only 4 cash turnstiles for away fans, and it took some folk an hour to get in. Apologies if there are other threads mentining this, just logged on.

Spurs have a far bigger and (generally) more affluent fanbase than us. And Pboro took a few thousand for their big day out.

8.000 against WHU, including 1,000 visiting fans (from what I read at the time).

11,000 today including 2,000 visiting fans.

I make that 2,000 extra BW fans. Simple arithmetic.

But don't let that stop you knocking your fellow fans.

:-k

Didn't make the game, set off from Leeds in sunshine and no snow, sat on M62 for 2 hours in blizzard with snow covering motorway. turned round at Saddleworth at 12.00 as snow up to 12 inches deep.

Got back to Leeds - no snow.

Gutted not to be there, pissed off with this crap weather, its snowng again in Leeds now.

Left Pudsey 1.15, just made kick-off. Was slow around Rishworth / Ainley Top, Huddersfield generally. 2.20 when I got to Saddleworth, no snow but very foggy.

You caught the worst of it. PS why did you set off so early..?

Lincoln brought about 3500-4000

8.000 against WHU, including 1,000 visiting fans (from what I read at the time).

Notice the word fan and not SUPPORTER

You asked what people's excuses were for not attending.

And it was asked as though people need to have an excuse.

According to the Lincoln forum , they brought 3100 fans.

Apparently they had trouble getting in the ground, paying for tickets & finding open turnstiles etc - looks like Bolton underestimated how many were coming.

Would Bolton estimate that or would they leave it up to Lincoln and/or the Police?
