Burndens Bogs Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 A nifty bit of business for the short term? OR..... a quick "make do and mend" with no real thought to the future? Discuss
superjohnmcginlay Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I reckon with the Wilshere thing, he may offer more than we have creative wise in mdifield, therefore til the end of the season is a benefit for us. This will give us time to identify a player whom we can sign on a full time basis. He adds quality which we need, mirror that to Rasiak the other year which didnt improve us. So for me its a nifty bit of business
exiledwhite2 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Good business. Seeing as Coyle wants to play a certain way, he's got potentially good players who can give us the ability to do that (and some options). Who knows, if we stay up these lads might even come back next year.
frosty1982 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 he obv. thinks that he can get us playing straight away and i hope he can, bring back a bit of excitment, but i think Weiss and Wilshere are here to add a bit attacking quality and to make do until end of the season when we will have more time to bring in other similar youngsters but on a permanent basis. I cant see either club letting us buy either player so they must just be to get us outta the position were in.
jazza Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Some of fat Sams loan signings were dross but I reckon Jack Wilshere is a coup and he will shine for us. Owen setting out to sign the type of player he wants. I'm looking forward to the future
Scrappy Doo Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Wilshere and Weiss are superb signings in terms of potential and pedigree, both can obviously play football and on the deck. neither will sign permanently as will go onto the bigger stage but if they help us in the meantime then happy days.
HoldensHairdo Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Here's hoping that they enjoy it and want to stay permanently...
Juan.Kerr Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 The other side to it is the fact that JW will be "in the shop window" getting games and gaining experience. Could be making money for Arsenal if someone with more money than us wants a go. Danny Guthrie, Liverpool reserve worth not much was suddenly worth ??4M to Newcastle a couple of seasons ago.
birch-chorley Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 was speaking to an Arsenal fan today who rates him very highly, he just turned 18 on new years day apparently and is just coming here to get games. they have ear marked him as a Bergkamp type player in the long term but usually plays on either flank at the moment. No way they would look to sell him. The only negative this guy said was that he has had a bit of an attitude problem but bar that he is mustard.

HR Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Are we on our loan limit? I see Paul Robinson has signed permanently today also.
