A team that lacks fight and spirit. A team that was formally solid (most of the time); and was showing flashes of quality football. A team that would (in my view)have taken points at Wigan (3), Fulham (3), Blackburn (1) and would have faired equally as well against Arsenal at home and Spurs in the cup. At team that would probably have a given Liverpool more of a game and possible got an early goal and maybe nicked a point or three.

 

A lot of possiblys and probablys there; Just my opinion. But from what i saw yesterday and previous matches; id say we would have stayed up with Megson. Not with OC.

3 clean sheets in 44 games does not strike me as solid. 3 clean sheets in 7 is a little more like it! Our away form this season does not indicate that we'd take 4 points from Wigan and Blackburn regardless of the manager.

 

Our record against the top 4 is woeful so I'm not sure we would have given Liverpool and/or Arsenal mroe of a game. In fact, we were 2-0 up at Arsenal and were well in the game at Liverpool until the second.

Loads on new grounds. Premier league is boring as hell. All it entails for 10 or so sides is scrapping around for an odd away point and winning an odd home game against your rivals. Boring, boring, boring..............

Megson had to go. FACT.(see end for why this is IMO a FACT)

 

In terms of battling performances was yesterday any worse than the Blackburn home game ?

 

Was Fulham home worse than Hull ?

 

There is an argument that people posted on here that we needed experience not potential once the Megson desicion was made but that does not mean sacking megson was wrong. We need experience on the pitch and off it, our signings in the transfer window were risky untill Holden and Wilshire are given a chance had to say if the risk will pay off, so far there non appearance implies it was a bad call.

 

FACT - the club was in the most vicious and spectacular downward spiral i can ever remember with no sign of it getting better.

We have decent INDIVIDUAL players but as a team they are fucking dog w@nk at the minute. Hopefully Coyle will get them playing (sooner rather than later!)

CYL, Muamba, Cahill, klasnic and to some extent Mark Davies are all quality players and barring klasnic have plenty of developing still to do.

I bet if you ask their supporters they are enjoying it more this season pushing for a promotion place than they were when they were struggling in the Premier League.

 

The Prem League won't change for years, the same teams will struggle and its just a case of "getting through it" and managing to stay up and then doing it all again season after season.

I didnt say that we would be challenging for promotion, but i'll guarantee that we will more games than we have in the last 4 years in the Premier League.
