The Jussi conversation got me thinking, and it seems that fans rate OTHER teams players to high or low.

 

Who do you think are Over and under rated in the prem ?

 

I think you have Muamba is vastly under rated, by almost every other fan I have spoken too.

 

Rio Ferdinand anyone ?? Always looks good with a Quality defender next to him, at Leeds he had Radebe.

 

Some people will say Kevin Davies, but he is actually rated by most people.

 

Toure is over rated, one of the worst defenders Ive seen in the prem....and he cost ?14 Million !

I agree about the Davies bit. Strange they never seem to admit it to Bolton supporters. Thierie Henry (Sp) once named SKD as the forward he most admired in the Prem. Fergusson just thinks he's a thug! Strange that two professional sportsmen have such opposing views.

davies is an average footballer but a fantastic player.

Davies is solid. Sometimes he hurts people, but he does not go out to do that. But, his mad diving slide tackles can be a bit over the top.

 

Over rated = Any youngster coming through at Old Trafford. eg: Posabbon was going to take over Ronaldo!!!

davies is an average footballer but a fantastic player.

Thats exactly how I would describe Tim Cahill.

Glen Johnson, he's god awful at defending, yet he cost ?18M. As a winger he mihght be good, but as a defender I'm not having it at all.

 

Underrated players of the past were Simon Charlton and Anthony Barness IMO

I think Steve Gerrard is vastly over rated, a decent enough Prem player yes - but World class?.......Never.

I think he was for a couple of seasons, but no longer I'm afraid

 

Carlton Palmer, he was over rated as well (not that I ever heard anybody rate him), but the fact he played for England about 20 times shows he must have been fairly rated by somebody somewhere

Overrated (if he is that) - Michael Carrick. Was he ?18m? What a waste of money.

 

Probably Carlton Cole too. And Stewart Downing.

i think carrick i underrated,

 

in fact as a footballing defensive midfielder, theres not many englishmen better, if any?

 

i honestly think you could put him in barca's team and he wouldnt look out of place.

 

unlike gerrard and lampard who would look like shire horses.

i kinda agree and disagree with that.

 

i know many lads who have tried and failed. as i know a couple how have succeeded.

 

there are many lads down the parks who could have been as good as anything you see in the pro game.

 

but birds, booze, cash and general lack of discipline and dedication means they dont make it.

 

 

i'd love to play football as a career and i too would attempt to "steal a living" out of it.

 

dont tell me you wouldnt.

Emile heskey for me. he seems to be totally overrated by some of the top managers i.e o'neill, cappello etc, whereas the rest of us know he is cack and not fit to lace sir kev's boots as a striker that can win headers and hold the ball up.
