December 19, 201015 yr There are defo better places than up here, but I wouldn't change being from here, 'cos if I wasn't, I probably wouldn't be a Wanderer Edited December 19, 201015 yr by DidledeeBwfc

December 19, 201015 yr You can still be a Northerner in your heart, Just don't live there. A lot better places to live. Again, please go on...
December 19, 201015 yr Author The chances of getting a shag up here in the north, far outweigh the problems down south trying to negotiate with a Chelsea rent boy.
December 20, 201015 yr I'd like to live in Pandora. I think there's a few on here think you should be in a box
December 20, 201015 yr London is shit. Surely that depends where in London you are talking about. Let's be honest though, Bolton is pretty grim isn't it. Havinf lived in both the North and the South, I am happy to say that neither of them is any shitter or any better than the other. Nice parts in both, and terribly grim parts in both as well. There are also a fair amount of decent folk and tossers in both as well
December 20, 201015 yr Surely that depends where in London you are talking about. All of it really. Sorry, but it's shit.
December 20, 201015 yr All of it really. Sorry, but it's shit. you clearly need to get out a bit more, I suppose you reckon Bolton and Manchester are great..............
December 20, 201015 yr London city is shit, but so is manc, Liverpool, brum, newcastle, sheffield and any other city centre. I guess its The whole ratrace way of living and all the plebs that go with it, its just not for me.
December 20, 201015 yr you clearly need to get out a bit more Probably. I have worked in/visited London more than a few times, and from what I have seen I don't like it. Given the choice of where to live, raise my kids and earn a living, London would be very near the bottom of a long list. But that's just my opinion.
December 20, 201015 yr you clearly need to get out a bit more, I suppose you reckon Bolton and Manchester are great.............. Not all of Bolton Manchester is cack, though
December 20, 201015 yr There is good and bad in every area. If I was young and earning decent wedge then I'd love to be working, living, and shagging my way around London without a doubt. I like it, and still enjoy going now. There's so many different places around so many different corners, I've been pissing my way around it 2 or 3 times a year for over 20 years and am still discovering new places. Rolling up and parking your arse at the Euston Flyer isn't my idea of a day out. That said, there are as many areas of London which turn the pit of my stomach. Step forward Londonistan. Fucking horrible ghetto shite. It's not racist it's fact - for every Edgeware Road (where I felt very uncomfortable with the wife and kids) there is a Camden High Street or Brick Lane which are great. I'm not sure why some diverse areas seems 'safer' than others. Grown up with pipe and slippers, 2.4 kids, and a mortgage, then I'm 2 mins away from a nature reserve the size of Manchester City Centre, 15 mins from the West Pennine Moors, an hour form the seaside, and 90 minutes away from the Lake District and there is only one winner.
December 20, 201015 yr Author Being in my late 50s, i just grew up and got used to the slums around Lancs, its changed a hell of a lot since i was a kid but i dont think i could live anywhere else.
December 21, 201015 yr What the fooks goin on with the traffic. I finished at 345pm yest and got home in normalish time. Other people in our office worked til 5pm and took 2hrs 30 min to get home. 2 hours for someone else getting off middlebrook. Madness.

Seems the backlash from the M6 closing as everyone had to get on the M61. The Horwich junction was jammed with them getting off and turning right to go to Wiggin. It was grim!
But i would never swap it for anything.
