Beckham Mania

Does my head in the fookers passed it, media bollox of the highest order time he hung his boots up.

he's not a footballer, he's a media puppet for making money.

the fact the beckham is TRAINING with tottenham is not breaking news and i dont need to hear about it every 30 mins.

See his skeleton is up the duff... again. Wizard's sleeve on a stick insects frame. :nea:

Good timing this, dont you think.

I would not be suprised, if a Book or New Pefume is getting released very soon.

I'll say it, I like David Beckham.

Of course he milks the celbrity culture for all it's worth but if Calvin Klein is going to pay you a couple of million to wear some underpants and have your picture taken, of course ytou'd do it.

He might be 'passed' it at the top level but i think he's still capable of doing a job at somewhere like Spurs.

The problem with rolling 24hr news channels and endless websites is they have to find stories to fill their time somewhere and David Beckham possibly coming back to the premier league is easy meat for them.

Also the whole reason he's not signed properly seems a bit suspect, he's a free agent in November and the sprogs have started at school over here so i wouldn't be surprised if he does end up at spurs.

The reason the club have given is insurance issues as he came back from Italy with an injury.

"The former 35-year-old midfielder is back in England and has arrived at Spurs' Chigwell training ground with his boots at the ready, despite the fact that the first-team squad have been given the day off following Sunday's 3-0 FA Cup victory over Charlton"

Also, folk weren't moaning when England were utilising / milking the global interest in Beckham to have him spearhead our WC bid

Just like them, we can't have it both ways either

If he signs for Spurs, there will be even more soccer tourists than usual amongst our support at White Hart Lane in a couple of weeks. I was surrounded by Japanese girls last time I went. I tried to teach them the words to 'We are the one and only Wanderers' without much success.

Well I don't like him. Nothing personal against him. I just don't like the way a very average footballer has been made into a superstar by the media simply because he married a pop star. He can't kick with his left foot, he can't head a ball, he can't tackle and he can't beat a man. What he can do and I concede he does it quite well is kick a ball. But can any team afford to carry someone in the hope of getting a free kick on the edge of the area.

No offence intended, but how can you hate everything about reality tv (I think that's what you said) yet like someone who lives their life in front of a camera ?

Yes, I do know that most of the time he has no say in the matter, but I can guarantee the rest of the time he does!

Don't forget, and I'm sure I'm right, but is his publicist that media mogul Simon Fuller ?

If it is, that tells you everything you need to know about Beckham.

A fookin media whore!

I was surrounded by Japanese girls last time I went.

That'd be Maki and Mariko, they live in Edgware Road.

They travelled in an aeroplane from Tokyo.

I like Japanese girls.

No offence taken, it'd take a lot more than that.

Beckham is a model pro, a role model for young footballers. Seems to give his all every time he steps on the pitch for club and more particularly in this case, for country.

A fine ambassador for our country all over the world: he spent loads of time helping out the Olympics & WC bids etc.

Yes, I don't like the media circus that follows him around, but...

at least he is a real celebrity, a man with some talent. The reality shows that I don't like are generally full of z-listers trying to resurrect a career.

he spent loads of time helping out the Olympics & WC bids etc.

It's a fair reply, and he's probably a nice bloke, but his problem for me is his over exposure in the media.Fair enough, he's worked hard for his money, but like most people with wealth, money has become a drug to him and it seems not a day goes by without him telling us about his next venture! Are his millions from football not enough ? This country is currently going through financial difficulties and people like him don't half rub our noses in it.He could probably clear all the third world debt in places like Leigh and it would not even register in his bank account.

As I have pointed out above, for me Beckham does 10% for other people and 90% for himself.

Well I don't like him. Nothing personal against him. I just don't like the way a very average footballer has been made into a superstar by the media simply because he married a pop star. I'm in. Though I think he's fundamentally a nice guy.

As for Spurs, they're absolutely desperate to make themselves a 'Big-4' club off the field (as well as on it) and will prostitute themselves to anything that might help. Enter Beckham on cue, stage left, publicity trumpets blaring ......

Beckham is a legend

Im a little confused, if he is only training with them, why the hell does he need a medical. When he trained with Arsenal a couple of years ago there wasn't all this hype!

I see Terry Henry is training with Arsenal - http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6648777,00.html

not a peak in the press really!

One of the Beckhams' biggest plus points is the way they have maximised their talents and abilities.

As stated above, it'll be related to the insurance after the issues at Milan.

Jesus wept Biff, not personal, are you sure??:

Beckham's won 6 titles & Champs League at Man Utd, 1 title at Real Madrid played over 100 times for his country; you just cannot do that and be "carried".

Yes he was limited ability wise, but he was so good at what he did do it made him a very good footballer - nowhere near average. His left foot isn't bad actually, his heading was no less than average as was his tackling

And it's fair to say his stock was higher than his wife's when they got together; if anything he made her newsworthy

dmb

sent off for his country in a WC

missed a penalty for his country.

fuck him
