I did the umpiring thing when I was about 14 and admittedly I was a shite umpire, I only did it cos it was easy money, I got free 5 a side footy and I could wank over the barmaid with the see through blouse in the bogs.

 

One game, on a Sunday night I think, I gave this bloke out - Jimmy - must've been late 30's / early 40's; typical Stockport scumbag - looked like Paul Calf with a shite tash and mullet, but then I suppose that wasn't that uncommon in 1991-92, apparently he was one of Utd's "top boys" and had been arrested for fighting at Villa Park on the Wednesday...anyway he disagrees (he was probably right to be fair) and starts abusing me...now bare in mind that a wicket only meant a loss of a few runs, not that his game was over...so I mutter "red twat" under my breath forgetting to turn the microphone off and therefore everyone on the pitch and surrounding area heard

 

So Jimmy reaches up and starts trying to hit me on the legs with his bat - all of a sudden my teenage cockyness has turned into a bit of fear, but Jimmy was giving it loads and had to be held back and put in the bar by his mates, but he was still banging on about how he was going to beat me up - a kid at the time.

 

That was until my old man turned up and pinned the scruffy cunt up against the wall
