Who Really Made The Old Ground Rock ?

Under Phil Neal, how many memorable games were there? 6 fucking years and what, 99% were forgettable.

I bet you could count them on one hand.

Exhibit A. Part demolished ground, sparsely occupied terraces, virtually empty stands and one of the worst BWFC teams in history. Burnden certainly wasn't rocking that day.

It was rocking to the sound of Boro fans ripping up the stand and lobbing seats down onto the Paddock, one of the few games I do remember. My mate got hit on the head after a big lump whistled past my ear.The only games I remember that season are all for the wrong reasons, Bury and Wigan at home then Aldershot. Their fans were rocking too, Burnden was fucking shit that season.

I think it just proves how crap we were in the 80's when most of it was so forgettable that only the odd game stands out as being 'memorable' and not usually for the performance on the pitch. Sheffield Utd at home was one such game. They filled the whole of the Embankment End and most of the Burnden Stand before dismantling it seat by seat and lobbing it into the Burnden Paddock. Having said that, we were pretty decent on the pitch that day for once.
