Agreed. That first shot that Elmander put in on the rebound; do we have to take the linesman's word for it that it was offside? How much by? For the sake of an extra 5 seconds they could have shown a different angle. In fact, balls to an extra 5 seconds, I don't particularly think showing the teams lining up shaking hands is a highlight. They could have binned that to save a bit of time for further actual highlights!

Think those stats are quite telling as a few have said including me robbo has always been a better footballer than he got credit for - there's not much between gretski and ricketts on the ball and they are both punching above their weight

I'm not having that - players who can pass pick the right pass so by rights should complete more passes - robbo's range of passing is the difference he's got much better feet than gretski and ricketts for me - this proves the point - not having a pop at ricketts and steinnsson particularly they work for the team and that but just think this further proves robbo deserves the credit he's getting shame he's not late 20's

You're comparing a centre half and a winger - knight plays it simple from the back (sometimes) chungy is knocking crosses in to "areas" there's one reason why but I'm comparing 3 full backs - it's not the be all and end all but it's a fair comparison surely?

 

Do you think the coaching staff use pass completion to measure a players performance I bet they do and if gretski or rickets say "yes gaffer it's chungy thats at fault" I bet they get fairly short shrift the team mates give em options but the man in possession takes responsibilty for his passing - and why would passing to chungy be any harder then taylor and petrov if anything taylors half a yard too slow and petrov is not easy to read.

I would expect playing on the left side more difficult as opposing players will be predominantly right footed and opposition play is more likely to be on that side.

With all due respect, that's not particularly accurate - if you are right footed, it's alot easier to pass to your left.

Petrov hardly seized his chance last night, though. Offside about 400 times in the second half, should have scored at least once (not alone, granted), gave us an insight into just why he doesn't defend with a schoolboy error in the first half, and then fucked off down the tunnel the minute the whistle went instead of coming over to pay tribute to his adoring support.

 

That means very little without the benefit of a bit of analysis. Does he go too early each time? Does he go when he expects the player with the ball to thread it into the gap? Does the person with the ball get his timing wrong every time?

 

I know we were behind the goal and so offside decisions are difficult to question but, from where I was stood, every single offside from Petrov looked extremely tight which means they almost got it right. He never looked yards off.

 

It gives them all something to work on in training I guess.

I thought he was going too early because the full back was quicker than him but folk will have their own opinions.
