Haha. Im not sure how people said he was so bad when hes hardly played much? Its only 2nd full game ive seen him and both times he did ok.

1st half crap, 2nd half a lot better[it wasn't hard really] I think he needs more time to develop. Doesn't look right there atm, maybe he just won't be good enough.

I would bring in Taylor at left back, a position he's played before, we've done alright in the past playing players like Gardner there.

Alonso did make some decent tackles, but how many times did he kick out of touch? and he was hesitating with his throw-ins, heard Holden shout "come on! hurry up!"

What puzzles me is why they waste their time posting on here when they could be earning a fortune managing in the Premier League.

not sure of your point

his crosses resembled johnny wilkinson at his best

he got better as the game went on

baffling

I thought he was one of our best players.

I don't. Most of them are on the 'Ignore' list.

He's alreet nowt special but he may or should get better with games under his belt.

it's not about not reading it, its about ruining the lad before he's had time

we have it every single time unless said newbie has a blinder on his debut.

the list is endless

carlos tevez didn't score in his first 17 premiership games (or something similar)

that tells you all you need to know

players need time

they don't need writing off after a carling cup game away to burnley

I don't. Most of them are on the 'Ignore' list.

Did someone say something then? :pardon:

What's happened to those who thought that Coyle didn't have a clue how to win away games? Or those who thought we were incapable of keeping a clean sheet? That's two away wins on the bounce and two clean sheets...

I don't. Most of them are on the 'Ignore' list.

What do you call a male hen? You'll only answer if I'm not on ignore.

Young lad that Coyle has seen something about him, at the moment looks our of his depth, but how many players have come in and struggled first season, but have turned our to be top players ? In Owen we trust.

Funniest post ever!!! Fact itk and all that.

He was awful for 30 mins the average for the rest of the game.

Confidence played a big part.

Couple of good interventions at best.

Hopefully he can only get better.

If he plays like he did in the 2nd half, he'll get a lot of praise, 1st half probably the nerves got to him, it's not like he cost us anything though, just was sloppy with possession like hitting it out of touch far too often.

Far too early to judge, he's hardly played, not got any consistent game time, not had a real chance to gain an understanding with the defence, needs to work on distribution and his discipline in his left back area, I say he needs to work on these, but who knows? maybe he's got it already, but sometimes nerves etc effect your game.

over 2.5 games since wheater came in, zero conceeded

If Coyle is planning on playing Alonso regularly, he can't start Petrov. Taylor has to start, to give him that defensive cover. Everything came down that side in the first half.

Alonso will come good. But he's a kid from a league where the overall play is much slower, and it shows. That said there was one excellent tackle in the first half, when he was supposedly shite.

I don't see any obvious alternatives, certainly not Taylor, who is poor defensively, so stick with him and get behind the lad.

I thought the whole defence played very well today. Alonso may seem a bit out of his depth at times but he played well today and against Liverpool, the more games he gets the better he will be. Robbo looked fine on the right but I would like steinsson back asap.

Forgetting all the moaning etc

Alonso looked alright to me defensively considering the nature of the game and circumstance

His distribution and passing was poorer than your average, but how many games has he played? You don't get pressed like that in Madrid's B team so it's a new ball game to him

Reminds me of an article I read on the Arse v Barca game - yeah they all knocked it around well in the middle, but that's because the players knew they wouldn't get clattered - it's easier that way; whereas most Premier League teams are up and at you.

Not sure he's there yet, but he did OK for me - we kept a clean sheet!

robinson strolled through this test

stooopid booking marred it

Anybody playing left back with Petrov in front of them deserves a pat on the back. He offers no help at all. He doesnt even run back to just try and get in the way of attackers never mind tackle em. The lad will get better the more he plays. Maybe we should get Robinson closing him down in training to help him learn if you dont play quick you get clattered :pardon:

i thought petrov was above average today

cracking cross first half when davies whacked the keeper

put chance on a plate for davies second half

couple of decent shots

if you're going to play a winger rather than a midfielder, i'd say he did a good-ish job
