FA Cup semi-final ticket?

Failing that, as a parent you can never have too many babygrows. Also, try getting clothes for 3 months plus as they'll have shedloads of new born.

Alternatively buy something nice for the new mum and dad as they (especially dad) may feel a little sidelined.

Best place to buy from?

Loads of my mates have kids so I've become a dab hand at this:

Baby GAP or Baby Next every single time

Loads and loads of good stuff

Gift receipt it already got or doesn't fit

Got to agree with the Calpol shout best invention ever ITK Fact

I agree with the comment that a gift voucher shows you have put no effort at all into choosing a gift.

A decent teddy will stay with a kid for a long time.

A big box of pampers could come in handy.

A slow cooker, as has been discussed at length on here could take some strain out of trying to tend to baby and meals at the same time.

No, No, No you're missing the point.

Go into BabyGap, Mothercare etc. Cop for one the hottie assistants and tell her how clueless you are at this stuff. You get sympathy, good advice and a peek down the old blouse for your trouble.

Gift voucher? Pah!

Oh, and a tub of vaseline for the cracked nipples.

Don't disagree with you mate.

Garp, get a present from Next but ask for a gift card in case they do not like it

 ! brilliant !

if its a boy cant go wrong with a KIRMIT :pardon:

My godfather bought me a skull on a stick, and a porno if I'm told correctly.

if its a boy cant go wrong with a KIRMIT :pardon:

Wrong on every imaginable level.

Next is the dogs, frankly. There's not much they do that isn't universally liked. Gift card to be on the safe side.

Otherwise, if you do want to be different, the one thing my lad never got as a baby was 24 bottles of Grolsch.

best gift we got was a bath seat thingy....make is summer and ?15ish from boots.

out of all the great stuff we got, this has come in the most handy...

Aye, either something practical like the bath seat or a play gym from ELC.

Or clothing aged 3months+, as already pointed out: they have shitloads of newborn stuff, but buying bigger clothes will save the parents money later and also show that you've thought about it yourself, rather than having done a straw poll amongst pissheads on the internet.
