Sturridge looks more like a 50 million striker than Torres atm, maybe we could loan Fernando next season if we do try to sign Sturridge then we'd no doubt make a profit in the future, but we won't be able to, Sturridge is always mentioning in interviews about going back to Chelsea, a season long loan would be the best we could get IMO.

On GMR on the way home they said that Sturridge's uncle (the former footballer) reckons there is a chance we could make it permanent.

He was on Skysports News earlier saying that he sees his future at Chelsea, which I suppose you would expect him to say. I think he would have his sights set on a team that gets regular European football, I would be very suprised if we signed him outright, a season long loan isn't beyond possibility though if Chelsea retain the services of Drogba, Anelka and Torres next term

I don't really see what Sturridge thinks he can achieve at Chelsea.

He'd be behind Drogba, Torres & Anelka as long as Chelsea keep them. And Roman's more likely to go out & splash another ?50m on a new striker than play an untried English striker.

They have one approx in line with the 18 yard box at the north stand end.

A Europa league place would help Sturridge to see the benefit of a full season loan. Just a pity he can't help to achieve that in the Cup.

Getting in Europe then Torres pulling his finger out and we might have a sniff of getting him back signing him outright would mean us selling Cahill and getting top dollar for him. Would love him to sign top striker

No way that Sturridge will stay after the end of the season; he sees us as a stepping stone to get in the Chelsea first team just like Wilshire did with Arsenal.

 

Hopefully he can knock a few more in for the last six games and get us into the sixth spot.
