Our Core Support.

Pretty easy to find out. Just go on the bus area outside the Reebok, and look at all the destinations. A survey was held before the move from Burnden and its more or less the same years later.

The highest density of Man U fans live in the Worsley area, according to a study done by Manchester Uni on season tickets bought.

Totally brainwashed, they will never get the geek watching Bolton, and having a better time.

westhoughton, surely?

Fuck off we shoot em at chequerbent !!

Just posted this on another FA Cup thread but its relevant to this one as well....

The club certainly needs to work hard on sustaining the support base. As people have said, we're encircled by fellow Premier League clubs and we're very unlucky that two sides who would otherwise be lower league fodder (Blackburn/Wigan) found mega-rich owners. The club can't take support for granted within Bolton's traditional geographical support base as used to be possible before 80s. (traditional support base including far more than Bolton - Westhoughton, Atherton, Tyldesley, Leigh, Walkden, Chorley, Wigan etc etc)

There are 4 coaches leaving Walkden on Sunday morning, I doubt that there will be that many going from Walkden to watch United or City, full credit to Walkden whites and in particular the Brindley where the white flame burns brightly. It is very easy for young kids to identify with Man U and the success they have had, therefore it is in the interest of BWFC to see what can be done to encourage and grow our supporter base at a young age, the more players who visit primary schools and local clubs the better, Bolton should aim to be the best in the northwest at building links in the community and trying to push the boundaries beyond the areas that we draw our traditional support from.

I think full credit is due to the Club for their efforts. We've had a ten year stint in the Premier League, a league cup final, two seasons in Europe and now an FA Cup Semi (& hopefully final). They have consistently kept ticket prices for u-18's cheap and promoted family attendance too. For all those who refer to the dark days languishing in the lower divisions, we're now seeing people who are coming upto adulthood who have never seen Bolton outside of the top flight. This will definately bolster our support base in years to come, I am sure of it.

indeed

the club have done their bit

i fear they are too good for the town

its time for the folk of bolton to stand up and be counted

I agree with you completely. Unfortunately we'll never be consistent (or more to the point rich) enough to win trophies regularly and become media darlings.

You, me and many many others understand the joys of doing well after years of depression. The celebrity culture kids will never understand this and always follow success.

You have hit the nail on the head, some people will not like it but the truth hurts, we have some top fans but not enough and many are to negative and do damage to the name of BWFC by being so. All Bolton fans should shout it from the roof tops, proud to be a Wanderer, I certsinly am.

last saturday, young lad, 5 or 6, with his dad and bro

bolton top, with his name on the back

nice to have you on board abdullah

this is the future

and some won't like that either

I have a few Asian friend, all support the Wanderers ( was gonna say white`s) but these lads have been supporting them since Burnden days. Theres a mini bus of twelve going down on Sunday.

Seconded.

Just spelched me tea all over the keyboard looking at that Stevieb. Fookin brill.

It`s not quite like that, but probably near enough. To be honest, they are a great bunch.

Not sure what the club have to do to not take us for granted but the support/interest is still huge.

There are loads of coaches and buses going from pubs in Leigh, Athy, and Tyldesley - if there are more combined Utd or City going then I'd be suprised. Wogden and Hofen are the same.

Brixton filled a 52 seater from Leyth before we knew what day we'd be playing - every Bolton fan I know round here is going bar none.

None of this 'waiting for the final' bollocks I'm hearing from folk who live in Bolton. :nea:

Two 56 seaters are going full of Athertons finest.

Altogether now.....

'We hate Wiggin more than you!!'

was at howe bridge this morning

way too many united shirts walking the streets for my liking

We used to have a real Hardcore set of fans from Little Hulton. The no 12 bus was always packed on matchday.

How long u going back? I'm LH white can't ever remember getting the number 12 bus cos it did not go past Burnden only to the town centre.
