My obvious guess is they were trying to find a dealer.

16 year old black kid faces the death penalty if found guilty.

My obvious guess is they were trying to find a dealer.

That did cross my mind too.

Might be wrong though.

Police confirmed the two Britons were not carrying any drugs but would not say whether they had any weapons or an unusually large amount of money.

No drugs on them but not said about weapons or money more than likley a drug deal then, 16 year old with a gun and not afraid of using it though is a scary thought

i reckon so too

I'm not convinced you can just accidentally stumble into an area like that when you're walking.

It's a rum do.

Heard a bit of an interview on the radio with the local police chief.

To paraphrase:

There was no legitimate reason why two tourists should be in a residential area at that time in the morning. There are no bars, no clubs, no restaurants nearby.

I reckon they were trying to score.

Said on the radio earlier that they where pissed up and stumbling around and banged on the bonnet of a witnes's car. I'd assume they using drunken logic to find drugs.

Tried as an adult at 16?

Walking the green mile

they were probably being the wanderersways version of dannyG

seeking the nearest blackman

It is quite sad that a child has done this and that will be his fate.

So it is alright he killed two people as long as he is under 18?

He had previous, funny enough if they had prosecuted he would have been off the street

Did I say that?

sorry when you said it was a child that done rather than a f*cked up little b*stard that you can find up and down both here and the states I misconstrued your meaning

I meant society's fucked when 16 year olds are doing it over here and over there. Instead of tackling it head on and accepting the lad never had a chance to grow up normally like I and I presume you have, he'll be executed. There's be another 100 of him in line next.

It's a sad world we live in.

It is indeed. Anyone see Ross Kemp's latest series - absolutely shocking how life means so little to some folk, whether they are from Congo or Chicago, it matters not. :(

Blame the shoot-em-up games on PS3, X-box, etc.

I think America's gun problems started before Sega.

I think it's a valid point, though.

These kind of games display a casual disregard for people's lives and property. Look at Grand Theft Auto.

Impressionable 'kids' from dysfunctional families, living in areas of high unemployment and who can't distinguish between video games and reality with consequences are a recipe for disaster.

I agree wholeheartedly.

But I do believe that a country which still thinks it's acceptable to bear arms needs to look long and hard as to why they have a higher rate of gun crime than those who don't.

Poverty and guns don't mix.

I've never bought that link between violent crime and video games debate. Same as I never bought the music or 'video nasties' cause violent behaviour debate.

I don't think there's ever been much credible evidence to suggest it either. Games like GTA sold literally millions. I'd have expecting kids to be going around twatting prostitutes and setting innocent bystanders on fire with flamethrowers left, right and centre if there was a real link.

I accept there are always a few people with murderous tendencies that will blame a video game, or a film, or a song for the fact that they've gone out and slaughtered people (most likely on the advice of their desperate defence lawyers) but there are massively more significant underlying causes than what they were watching/playing/listening to that afternoon!

What did killers pre-video games blame?

Helter Skelter by Vincent Burgliosi goes some way to explaining how murderous tendencies are typically linked with parenthood, or lack of it and obviously child abuse. You would literally have to be mentally handicapped to play a game and then feel the urge to go and re-enact it in the street. In which case, is it the game or is it the lack of guidance or control over a disturbed person?

It is quite sad that a child has done this and that will be his fate.

If found guilty I would be quite happy to see the little twat hung with piano wire.

Without looking at why this is happening? Fair enough. It must be all that yoghurt knitting I've done recently then.
