Muamba & Elmander Outclass Fabregas & Wilshere

Featured Replies

in midfield!!! Well who would have thought it? I think Elmander is doing well playing in midfield in for Stuart Holden, especially as it is not his natural position. Is anyone else concerned for next season if Elmander leaves and we will only havea 34 year old Kevin Davies as a main striker, as I doubt Klasnic or Sturridge will stay either, and from what I have seen of the young reserve strikers they are not ready for the PL. What are Bolton doing into enticing Elmander to stay, if anything? I could see us struggling next season without a good striking partnership like this season.

You really love Elmander don't you?

I thought Elmo was poor in the middle of the park on Sunday

did they really outclass Arsenal?

was it you that text talkshite saying we outplayed Arsenal all over the pitch?

great result, great game and great bounce back after last week - outplayed / outclassed, not by a long way

Elmander needs reminding that, as a central midfielder, if he picks up little knock then he can't just amble back down the field holding his leg when the opposition are attacking.

TBF, I think he'd done a decent job in Holden's absence, but I'd still rather see Mavies starting.

watched a differant game to me then

elmo looks like a forward playing in midfield.

he did ok, but make a couple of bad decisions that he'd get away with up front, or even out wide.

I heard that...ray houghton diddnt like that!!

On the elmander front..cant knock his performances againt west ham and arsenal, but remember they are probably the two most lightweight midfields in the league.

Againt any stronger midfield he would be and was against stoke totally outmuscled.

I just hope the board are taking notice that bolton,an established premier league club, sitting in the top ten for most of the season, are being forced to play our top goal scorer in the center of midfield.

Remind us again of how Mandy performed against the bigger boys at Wembley.

Would rather have Mark Davies in there

Would rather have Mark Davies in there

As would Coyle but Mavies only passed a fitness test Sunday morning.

He didn't perform like 10 others

But I'm of the opinion that to take a place on the bench, you need to be fit enough to start.

Elmander could have been seriously injured in the 1st minute, then Davies would have had to play a full game.

agree with that,

i dont think coyle wants to piss elmo off, so is trying to keep him in the side at all costs. or maybe he really rates him?

either way, he want to keep him onside so hopefully he'll sign a new contract.

elmander did not outclass anyone in midfield.

the game passed him by.

it aint his fault but he is a liability in midfield gives the ball away and does not work hard enough to get back, watch their first goal.

Agreed, how anybody can think he's doing well in midfield beggars belief.

I've been impressed with Elmo in midfield, he's shown a willingness to play out of position BUT we have better options in all positions.

Mark Davies is too lightweight to play in a 4 man midfield (in a 3 he would be great) . Coyle knows this and is having the more powerful Elmo in there. Those who know about football will understand this.

Do those who understand football think elmo had a good game on sunday

Also do they think him and FM outclassed Fabregas and Wilshire.

Elmander was far better than the dissapointing Muamba. Fabrice was like a fish out of water.
