Handy Hints

Anyone got a miraculous handy hint at how to get super-glue out of material? Or more specifically, suit trousers??

Yours hopefully...

Nail varnish remover and an old (or someone else's) toothbush.

.. and that won't strip the colour out of them?

Shouldn't do, but don't sue me if it does, may depend on the quality of the suit.

Take them to a dry cleaners and ask there. Even if they remove it though, I reckon it will still leave a mark.

Set fire to them.

I'll give it a try, thanks.

Might as well do as I can't wear them anyway.

If it doesn't work then some lucky African will end up being the recipient. They'll go really well with his circa 1985 Arsenal away shirt.

Just googled it and he's right, Acetone is the only thing that will remove it.

If the acetone takes the colour out of the material, you could always tie-dye the whole suit!

Happt to help.

Find out what solvent is in the glue, then just clean with that solvent.

Cover the rest of the suit in same glue to match?

Just cut it out, easy

Thanks - the expected advice is coming thick and fast now.

I'm surprised no-one's suggested I just wear them inside out.

Have you thought about wearing them inside out?

What a belter of an idea. Wish I'd thought of that. ;)

paint the whole suit white with emulsion, this will surely cover the offending stain

Buy a new suit?

Use it as a spunk rag, they will struggle to see the glue after a few months. HTH

Just stick a badge or patch over the stain.

Move to Bermuda.

have you tride frezzing them

I'm going to have to ask: How does one get super glue on their suit trousers?

I think that handy hint is for removing chewing gum from clothing. :good:

Re No Balls question, it involves velcro and a window blind ... and a stupid bastard who tried to amalgamate the two whilst still wearing a work suit.

Cut the bottoms off to make a pair of fetching shorts.

Ahh! See I had an image of you getting a quick high whilst waiting for your court appearance and then dropping the capsule in nervous anticipation. :D

By the way, shouldn't this thread be made a sticky?
