August 29, 201114 yr In the 1950s Great Britain played Australia in a RL test in Australia. Alan Prescott was the GB captain. He broke his arm early in the game but still completed the match.

August 29, 201114 yr Mons game, stuff like thats not uncommon. Leyths Stu Donlan broke his cheekbone during the first half of last weeks game, had a bit of magic sponge and carried on. John Duffy broke 3 ribs in the first tackle of the NR Cup Final and played on but missed the next 2 games because he could not breathe properly. When I captained GB in Australia back in the 20's, I had snapped my leg in two, asked the physio to chop it off just below the bollocks, and played on. We won in the last minute and I had my leg sewn back on by an Aboriginal witch doctor. By the time the ship got back into Knott End 6 weeks later, the wound had healed perfectly.
August 29, 201114 yr eric bell played on with a torn hamstring and scored ahh well, torn hamstring, broken leg - same thing. A couple of seasons back Kev Davies came off the pitch with one of his fingers pointing the wrong way, had it popped back in and carried on playing. Not too many players these days would've done the same. Played cricket with a fella a couple of years ago who went to take a catch, held it and then looked at his hand and he had a similar issue. He showed it me and said "This doesn't look right does it?". He then just popped it back into place. I asked if he'd ever done that before and he just shrugged and said "No". I reckon I'd have fainted.

August 29, 201114 yr I popped my thumb back into place when it dislocated playing keeper in 5-a-side, that smarted a touch. Also snapped a broken nose back into place four times - this gradually gets less and less painful though
August 30, 201114 yr A couple of seasons back Kev Davies came off the pitch with one of his fingers pointing the wrong way, had it popped back in and carried on playing. Not too many players these days would've done the same. Davies fractured his cheekbone and carried on against Charlton didn't he? Or do I misremember?
