Cunning Plan

I have a little idea

So, in general most believe that OC is a decent bloke, they all want to play for him and he fosters a great team spirit / positivity etc.

However, he appears to be lacking in experience at high level, tactics and the coaching side.......

Steve McClaren's stock has fallen somewhat after his latest spell at Forest

I think he'd make a great addition as a coach / more experienced head to help out on that front - it's generally accepted that he's a great coach - his experience at Derby and Utd must be invaluable, but maybe he's not seen as the most inspiring Manager, so it could fit

I don't think he'd do it permanently, but as a temporary stop gap to get him back in the game quickly and rebuild his reputation you never know......

Worth a punt? :)

Just a thought

nope

just an idea

it's a little out of left field but it's still more sensible than the midfield was yesterday :D

id have mclaren ahead of coyle every day of the week.

but he's ginger (i think) so i cant see that going down well with the fans.

What a ridiculous idea. :D

McClaren's not exactly a mon's mon is he, & that's what we need. Someone who can teach him to kick water bottles and look really angry when we're playing shit instead of looking up passively at his mate God in the sky.

Thats an idea - a bad one, but it's an idea :D

Seriously though, i think OC could do with some decent help.

was it Todd who got Derek Fazackerly in to help out and the results were pretty much instant and positive?

McClaren is a decent manager who has actually won things in his career, and reached a UEFA cup final with Middlesbrough. Look where they ended up once he left.

Far better than Coyle, at least as it stands.

He would not come and work as a junior to an inferior manager, nor would Coyle be happy having someone like McClaren ready and waiting to take his job from him.

What we need is a defensive coach to get the midfield and back four to defend as a unit, I cannot believe that a group of so called premiership players cannot organise each other and talk, the david luis runs were beyond belief, players should pass opponents on and organise each other, it was highlighted that we had 7 players on the edge of the box and not one of them thought it was a good idea to close down the space in front of them, they must be thick as fook, I bet they cant wipe there own arse.

Must admit - I'd had similar thoughts myself.

I'd be happy to give anything a try. (well within reason !!)

I hated that twat when he scored the winner at Burnden.

theres a lot of people on this site who are going to look VERY silly in a few months time.

There's always a chance of that. About as much chance as us beating ManU & Chelsea probably.

But the evidence to back up your view is ............ ?

Garp I really hope your right but we are very very poor at the moment and our supremo feels that we have the personnel to play 4-4-2 when it is clear we do not, the last throw of the dice for 4-4-2 should be 2 holding defensive midfielders if that does not work he has to think again.

People are going to look silly because they are saying that what we are seeing at the moment is awful? How do you come to that conclusion?

Have you ever seen a worse 45 minutes than yesterday's first half?

Do you think it was a good idea to play Kevin Davies on the right of midfield and Gardner in the centre (especially when we had players who can play in those positions on the bench) ?

over 100 years of football records that show teams go through bad runs of form, weve been had this discussion before.

Coyle now needs an experienced coach, yet he didn't last season when we were flying high and in the FA Cup.

stability over drastic changes

look at the records, its all there.

No, they are going to look silly because of what they are suggesting. The last few weeks its been we need to change to 451

now its we need an experienced coach to help coyle

what will it be next?

and yes I have seen us play a worse 45 minutes, some one posts that every week for fucks sake, even people who have been going for 20 years longer than Ive been alive. Its incorrect and its boring.

not joking.

I reckon there will be 50+ games, where someone has posted on this site that the previous game worse the worst they have ever seen.

Yes, thats exactly what we do.

We continue to work hard and wait for the tide to turn. Its happened before and it will happen again. The worst thing you can do is change everything you have done for the last two years.

The one thing that has pissed me off about Coyle is him changing from the 442. He bought players to play 442 and now hes changed it to a 451 and its fecking annoying. I really really hope its not down to pressure from the fans.

Does anyone know how many of the 20 teams in the Premier League played 451 this weekend other than us? a big fat zero, we were the only ones and we got absolutely tonked (the worst 45 minutes some have ever seen  ). Before anyone comes back and says "team X played 4231 or 4141, thats near enough the same as 451/433" its not, thats why they didnt play it.

and should I just agree with everyones opinion, or am I ok to say if I disagree?
