a long way to go for just 4 nights.

What about looking at going to Iceland for 3 or 4 days - you can fly into Reykjavik (sp) and then drive off to try to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights: Iceland - Might end up being on the costly side though

Or you could always try Benidorm :D

Pabbers,

What kind of sightseeing?

Tunisia's only a short flight (2.5 hrs) and relatively cheap.

Decent beaches, good weather, plus you could take her to Carthage for the old ruins, Sidi Bou Said is a lovely place to spend an afternoon,

El Djem has an Old Roman amphitheatre, there's the caves at Matmata whwere they filmed Star Wars and for the kids, there's a wildlife park at Friguia Park, complete with Dolphinarium, where the kids can swim with the dolphins.

There's also a small theme park called Carthage Land at Hammammet Yasmine: http://www.carthageland.com/

Reykjavik is a fantastic place but VERY expensive once you're there.

Blue lagoon, whale watching, Hallgr?mskirkja etc are costly enough. Once you start wanting to go out into the wilderness you are into silly money.

Iceland is unbelievable, but they are all potty. They used to have a duty-free shop going in to Reykjavik because you couldn't buy alcohol in bars and pubs. It's changed now, they are all pissed up. The Blue Lagoon is superb, and there is a town completely under greenhouse. They have the biggest bananas (fnar-fnar) in Europe. When you have a shower the water smells of sulphur, but it doesn't stay on you once you're dry.

Salzburg too is great. Loads of bars and restaurants including one where everything is served in cones like you get icecream in. When we were there the Salzburg football team were in. There is loads of Mozart themed entertainment, plus the palace they filmed some of the Sound of Music in. In the same grounds there is a park with mystery water jets hidden in the scenes. You can't help but get pissed through.

Or, have you thought about Benidorm ?

The answer is Rome.

The answer is always Rome.

Do you reckon they will have finished building it by next September when Pabbers is planning on going?

Will the Cities change before sept ?

No, but the flights will get dearer.

So better booking now then !?!

It depends really on where you choose to go and which airline.

Budget airlines tend to be cheaper the earlier you book.

They tend to have 5 escalating price bands, with 30 or seats available at each band.

TBH, I would just lump on Benidorm. But need to put more effort in this time.

Tunisia is an horrible shit hole full of the Frenchies.

Prague is my choice

Great City and not too long a flight

great beer

great people

the best city I've been to for an all round weekend away

Iceland's great for sightseeing and it's a relatively short flight. Rekjavik also has the added advantage of having pubs which turn into clubs later on in the evening, so you never have to leave once you're in there! September might be a bit on the cold side though. I went in November and it was -10C.
