Only my opinion , but don't like the cunt, think he's only out to make himself look big.

Could have dropped one mighty bollock, time will tell.

'scuse me, but what was the last thing you used in your everyday life , that was <Made in England>

That logo/slogan disappeared more than 30 years ago, when I recall a lion stamped on my egg, and I had a milkman delivering real milk !!!

China/India/Singapore are the next primary manufacturers

we've been shafted by our governments, that's why Mittel owns most of our steel industry

Mona, you obviosley live in an odd little world.

I always wear shoes made in Britain, I also get most of my shirts tailored on Jermyn Street in London, my suits are probably from places other than here but so what? There are plenty of brands from Britain that are still the best in the world.

I want to jump on the oversimplification bandwagon if there's room...

We ship all our valuable scrap/recyclables over there (I've got a 4 inch scar on my shin, 'cause those bastards nicked the grid outside my house) - They ship back ?1 shop tat and cheap George/Tesco etc. fleeces and socks.

We turn the thermostat down, put up with eyesore wind farms and other carbon footprint bollocks - They throw up a coal fired power station every other week.

They're already putting the infrastructure in place to bleed Africa dry.

And they have the temerity to swipe Anelka from under our noses.

Furthermore, all the takeaways I frequent now get their stuff from that big wholesale place down Ancoats, which is rubbish - and if you go elsewhere, it's the same rubbish.

FEAR CHINA!

Don't want to give Cameron too much credit - he had absolutely no choice.

Sarkozy pretty blatently insisted on a treaty that was utterly unacceptable to us. Now we can look forward to him blaming the failure of their utterly moronic currency on the City of London, in a desperate attempt to win re-election next year.

More amusing is watching Labour trying to oppose for oppositions sake, even though the Treaty they apparently think we should sign involves making their suggestion for the economy illegal.

You know when you've done the right thing when the frogs are pissed off with you

Sarkozy is a slimy turd

Like errrm cameron

Yes a fucking triumph, Europe is now completely isolated

Should have signed up, then?

Should have signed up, then?

We can't refuse to sign up and then say we want to remain in the EU and claim to remain influential. 26 countries are in a big fuck off oil tanker and we're in a rubber dinghy on our own. They won't wait for us. If this is followed by withdrawal or comprehensive shifting of the terms of our membership, fair enough. But we can't have both. We're now left with no UK representation at summits the results of which will strongly affect our economy. Cameron has allowed 90 or 100 or so right wing Tory MPs to guide him and turned into John Bull to pander to a jingoistic public which can't get enough of the symbolism of Europe doing one thing and us doing another. Cameron wants to get serious and either suck it up and sign up to these things and deal with the Tory right separately, or withdraw us altogether. We can't have it both ways.

So, you would have jumped on the Euro tanker 11 years ago?

David Cameron and his merry bunch of Toffs can fook right off back to Eton.

Standing up to Europe doesn't make up for his brutal attacks on the most vulnerable in our society since the cuts came in. Once he starts standing up to the white collar criminals and protecting us Brits then i might give him an ounce of respect. But we all know there's more chance of Fleetwood winning the FA Cup.

The day Our Maggie dies i will be drinking bubbly and dancing in Trafalgar Square with thousands of others :yahoo:

Jesus Christ no, of course not

Those people, in the main, will probably not be old enough to remember her being in power anyway.

It seems a fashionable thing to say this.

Sigh

Take 30 seconds and read what I said. Nowhere did I say he should have signed. What I did say is that if he isn't going to join the other 26 countries then he can't then emerge and claim we are their equals within the EU and hope to maintain similar levels of influence. He should either have signed, or preferably said fuck off, we'll do this on our own terms and if you don't like it, Norway and Switzerland do just fine, thanks.

I read what you said, but also took into account what you meant.

The point is that they are going to continue on their journey in any event, with or without us. It isn't the right journey for us (or any rational thinking country) From where we are, it is as good as it gets.

EDIT; probably!

Everything bad, ever, is the fault of the Labour party, fact. Prime examples being the 3 day week, the UK joining the EEC and us signing the Single European Act. Which all happened under the Tories. As did us deciding to move from Burnden. The useless cloth cap wearing clowns.

Future allegiance changed, thanks for my epiphany, Mr Whites Man

Also won the world cup under Labour, we'd never had it so good

Very magnanimous of you BD, thank you. In the same spirit I will acknowledge Bucks Fizz'z 1981 Eurovision as a Tory victory.

(Being a smart arse I would like to point out that the "never had it so good" quote you alluded to was made by a Conservative Prime Minister. Biff you would have chipped in with that if he was still around.)

Ah, a subtle variation on the "fishing" defence, well played.

IMO

All in all the UK being part of the EU has been a massive benefit to us and will continue to be so, we will never drop out. Nothing in that for both sides.

However the French and Germans trying to get this transaction tax through to pay a bailout pot is a joke as London handles 40% of the worlds foreign xchange transactions (france 3%, Germany 1%).

They can say all they want that the recession was caused by Financial services but that had fuck all to do with Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Italy being fucked. Half the problem is that folk have over spent, many on German made cars etc

We would be the worse off by a transaction tax, its either the whole world or nothing.

Germany is in a win win situation as being part of the euro means there goods are cheap and there economy is strong, if they had the deutchmark then the currency would go sky high and there goods would cost a fortune and the economy would drop off. For that reason they may as well bail out the shitbags.

Cameron has done the right thing but delivered / negotiated it incorrectly. We rely on Financial Services and because of it had to borrow alot more preportionally than any other EU country to bail the banks out, we didnt get any help then.

I love how you assume that me hating Tory cu*nts atomatically makes me a labour supporter. Politics is full of selfish muppets and always has been, its just the tories have always been the most selfish, self absorbed, naive bunch of muppets. There's plenty of money knocking about amongst the elite people who fecked Europe up. The worst thing is Cameron has just opted out of a scheme 26 other countries agree on which involves taking more power away from greedy corperations and banks who destroy financial markets.

How much the Eton toffs care for the average British citizen :yahoo:

Financially screwed under labour

financially screwed under Conservative

The countries making cuts and savings to pull back the deficit, and trying to balance the books, other countries (Greece) are refusing to do this, and want the Euro to bail them out.

Its the equivalent of your next door neighbour being on Benefits and having jet setting Holidays..

Its not hard to see why Cameron's opted out of this one,

Just as a pointer to how screwed up things are these days.. Graduate Schemes when i left uni in 2003 started with a 18k salary. I've been out of Uni now for 8/9 years and I'm on 18500 ( or was before I quit my job and started a business ). I'm not entitled to any help or tax breaks etc, Prices rocket, fuel bills rocket, council tax has gone up..

How many more cuts/tax rises can we make to help out countries that wont help themselves. Greece were given an option a few weeks back but as it meant they had to make spending cuts which might affect their Leaders (I'm shit with names) reputation, it was thrown out..
