anewman Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 seems to have upset some of the major faces from time gone by and rumour has it they are getting together to put pen to paper and put together a real account of life as it was
Mixu Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 I bet they're sharpening their crayons as we speak.
Site Supporter Spider Posted January 1, 2012 Site Supporter Posted January 1, 2012 I read the Cass Pennant book a bit back I could have spent the time reading the Beano. The content would have been better.
anewman Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 I bet they're sharpening their crayons as we speak. well feel free to tell them that to their face
Sir_Francis Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 seems to have upset some of the major faces from time gone by and rumour has it they are getting together to put pen to paper and put together a real account of life as it was Im familiar with a few of the major faces from yesteryear but I cannot recall ever seeing the bloke who wrote this book. I take it he stood at the back when things got heavy? ps not read the book yet but been told its embarrassing.
C86 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Embarrassing is not the word. West Houghton is Westhoughton. Not hard is it. Cuckoo's got there name in 78 aint got a fucking clue. In one "tale" he goes from the 80 to the 90 and back in a sentence. Glad I was lent it than buy it, read it in a night. All the lads who have lent it say the same too, I can't remember last week but I remember everything from 1980 to 1989.
Bigtoe Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Genuine review here http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/1905769245/ref=cm_cr_pr_hist_5?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addFiveStar ps any ideas what the writer would expect to earn from it?
anewman Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 I never realised that farnworth ran bolton
C86 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 To be fair, 1990 onwards I wasn't there but know the score so the EDL & the 00's etc I cant comment on. The 1980's just weren't right IMO. Love to a book just on the 80's.

L/H White Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 The front cover was enough for me. Embarrassing is a massive understatement
anewman Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 The front cover was enough for me. Embarrassing is a massive understatement I can confirm that at least half of them have never been involved in any FV of some sort
L/H White Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I can also confirm that they shop at JD and Scotts
anewman Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 I can also confirm that they shop at JD and Scotts they should of got you and your lot on it, think you may of done more
Pablo Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 (edited) I know loads on that cover, and I know Dougie reasonably well, decent to talk too, always had time for this "bin dipper". I wont read it, as I dont want it to change my opinion of him, and some in it, that I know well. That front cover really does make me wonder, how the fook any of them and Bolton fans can call scouser's, for what they wear. Edited January 2, 2012 by Pablo
Dan.m Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 There's a 3 or 4 chapter preview on Amazon of the book. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/reader/1905769245/ref=sib_dp_kd#reader-link

Smiley Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 'One of the most notorious sets of hooligans' White Love Fanzine, 4 April 1988. Was this Smiley or Peter North? White Love didn't start until early-mid 90s.
Sir_Francis Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 My Uncle is bottom right and dress sense has never been his strong point! However i can confirm he has done enough and seen enough to of done a book on his own! Ive not seen him for about 15 yrs now but yes, he definately was not wired up right! Im not on first name terms with him but we always had a quick chat when we saw each other. Has he told you of the incident involving a shopwindow!? My memorys going a little but Im sure it was him.
Site Supporter MickyD Posted January 2, 2012 Site Supporter Posted January 2, 2012 What is the fascination with wanting the world (as if!) to know you aren't wired up right?
