I used to go most Saturday nights in the 80's. I saw Tommy Cooper, Bob Monkhouse, Showaddywaddy,Zat Knight abd the Pips and Freddie Starr amongst others.

A good nights entertainment and a good chance of a leg over.

Fuck me, Showaddywaddy lived there, Alvin 'My CooCaChoo' Stardust, Gary 'the beast' Glitter, the list is almost endless, as others have said, some fantastic Friday and Saturday nights there in the 80's

I jumped on a coach bound for Kirkby with a girl i met in the club hoplng for a lift back up the East Lancs, i have never been kicked and scratched off so many wimmin in my life. The bus driver dropped me off on the Queens island in Boothstown thank fuck.

I first heard of Showaddywaddy when i was working in Torquay in 74 and all the inbred Devonians took a shine to them.

Sure i saw Edwin Starr at the Aquarius in the 70s.

PJ Proby was a yank singer, he sang Hold Me, in 64, he split his pants doing a gig. I was only ten years old and my mam told me. :D

Had an erm ..altercation with Showawaddy in the Moat House, Chester one night. Load of us used to go in every sunday and they turned up late on, in the multicoloured drapes, giving it large in what was 'our' bar!
