January 27, 201214 yr Running a bigger club than ours and quite possibly in the same league as us next season. I have read some crap on here but this takes the biscuit.........................................obviously having a bad day yesterday.
January 27, 201214 yr Oh that little story about Hiddink and Bruce being ugly, hes a card isnt it he, whitty banter
January 27, 201214 yr I have read some crap on here but this takes the biscuit.........................................obviously having a bad day yesterday. Go on, I'll play along. 1. Why is it crap? 2. You've obviously not read much of the site if you think it's the worst you've read on here.

Not that interested in "playing along" mate, if you seriously think that Sheffield Weds are a bigger club than BWFC, you have been locked in a dark room for quite a few years. Agreed I am a newby on the site, it is my first anniversary in 2 days, but I know crap when I read it, no matter how long I have been reading things on this site.
January 27, 201214 yr Yep, Burnden was always full and the packed masses at the Reebok would still be there if we were playing MK Dons, Wycombe and Carlisle week in, week out.
January 27, 201214 yr Sheffield Wednesday are a bigger club than Bolton, as are Leeds & probably Birmingham. Not playing in the EPL does not make them any smaller.

So, you don't dispute we might be playing them next season? It's just my opinion that they're a bigger club than us is the biggest pile of crap you've read on here? I do think Sheffield Wednesday are "a bigger club" than we are. I think they have been for a long time. I reckon there'll be plenty in agreement with me.

Being a Wanderers fan for over 55 years, I never try and predict the end of any season, its a roller coaster ride, but, what will be will be and being a Wanderer I am forever the optimist. Your opinion is your opinion, but so is mine. I have no doubt there will be people who are in agreement with you, being a mainly Wanderers inhabited board I would expect a few agree with me too.
January 27, 201214 yr So if he doesn't, are you going to start a "Gartside out" campaign, seeing as you are implicating his involvement in match-fixing? Not sure who you are CHEESE but from your comments you are definately not a Bolton fan. Maybe you Megson - just a thought
January 27, 201214 yr from what i have learnt from my discussions on facebook today some people actually fucking believe that. which is mental And the majority going on about it don't go anymore either.
January 27, 201214 yr I'd say Sheff Weds are only bigger than us in terms of fanbase, in which respect they are at least 1.5-2 times bigger - though their fanbase is far more spread across S Yorkshire as Sheff Utd tend to get the fans from the city (based on experience of living there for 3 years) in terms of history - we've won the cup more and though they've won 4 titles, they haven't won one since 1930 i'd say our 11 year spell in the Premier League coupled with their 12 year absence from it probably puts us on an even keel if you think they're bigger just because of their fan base you're probably a West Ham fan in disguise
January 27, 201214 yr Some on here are more bothered about who are a bigger Club than that Club's own fans. Who honestly cares? Bolton are small fish in a big pond. "Big" Club means ball all. It is far too subjective and ultimately irrelevant. Edited January 27, 201214 yr by boothybwfc
January 27, 201214 yr I listened as planned and firstly it's excellent to hear we still piss him off and that as a fan of BWFC he holds me in complete contempt for making his life miserable - he came across exactly as I expected a typical old skool, arrogant, I'm in the game your not, I'm a footballing man type ex pro / manager - you know the type like you see at sportsmans dinners who are so far up their own arse they expect a standing ovation for their prescence- he is a fucking dinosaur and should be filed away with Neil Warnock, Ron Atkinson and Dave Bassett. He does not have the mental aptitude to take a club forward at premier league level

Its not clear cut either way but i think we just edge it due to the exposure/sucess of the premier league. If we were both in the championship next season though they definatley would be seen as a bigger club than us imo.

If we were both in the championship next season though they definatley would be seen as a bigger club than us imo. Exactly - this is the probelm with whole "big club" debate. How the fuck do you judge it? Long term history - well we'd do alreet on that front. Last 10 years - well in that case we'd shit on almost 90% of the rest of the league. But in terms of fanbase we are what we are - stuck in the middle of a vast number of other local clubs. Fact is that if you gave us all a vastly oversized stadium that could take however many wanted to attend, and provided fans with teams at high and equal levels, we'd not only lose out to Sheff Wed and United (who, contrary to our 5k crowds, averaged 15k when they were in 4th) but we would be done by Leicester, Derby, Forest, Soton etc. Bleating about their geographical advantages is - in that way of judging it - irrelevant. It is what it is. So it's all bollocks - and I'd bet Grimsby have taken more away fans to some non league games this year than we have to PL ones.
January 27, 201214 yr Not sure who you are CHEESE but from your comments you are definately not a Bolton fan. Maybe you Megson - just a thought Maybe he's a Red ex-Leicester? .............. I'll get me coat
January 27, 201214 yr I spoke with one friend at the time who had successfully managed one of the youth teams for several years, earning a number of honours along the way, only to be made 'redundant' within weeks of Megson arriving and was replaced by a Megson appointment. The players were universally against him from the start but the protests were muted due to the fear of being dropped or being isolated so it was inevitable that once the brand of football and subsequent results alienated the fans his days were numbered...up there with the worst ever Wanderers' managers. However he did have an eye for a decent player so basically he got rid of some of the backroom staff and brought his own in? which players were universally against him? was it the useless fuckers that sammy lee brought in that couldn`t spell football? or the under achieving first teamers coasting along without a care in the world as we festered at the bottom of the league? the team was doing jack shit, he came in and gave them all a good fucking and quite right too. footballers are thick, they dont respond to having their tummy tickled. If you need telling that then you`re either under 15 or deluded
January 27, 201214 yr 1- he will always be a cock 2- the way he portrayed bwfc was a disgrace. 3- the unrest he brought into the 'club' was huge within staff 4- why are we still rising to this tool?
January 27, 201214 yr 4- why are we still rising to this tool? It's always pantomine season on here. Personally, I found his right hand man more annoying in a professional sense. What a cock he is/was.
January 27, 201214 yr chris evans i presume? yes i agree Welsh Cunt Works for Smegson again, I think.
January 27, 201214 yr he could have brought us a little gem though? but yes as you said. Oh yes, the Wolves thing. Nawty boy.
