Messi is shit. He's proven this because he never does owt in World Cups

Dont think anyone would suggest that

on the question of "best ever" its the main ammo

maradona took an otherwise average side to a world cup win. and a final.

combusted in another two mind

fwiw I 100% agree. Pele and Messi were/are incredible players in great, great (or top, top) teams but ultimately teams who would still have won things without them.

Argentina wouldn't have been anywhere near winning the World Cup, nor Napoli winning Serie A without him in the side.

He's the greatest player to date in my lifetime.

Still a cheating, dirty little cnut mind.

Messi has time yet, atleast 2 world Cups to change that.

1 Madrid 67

2 Barca 57

3 Valencia 43

4 Levante 38

that doesnt look good to the football fan

Not a right lot different than Scottish Prem . . . or our own come to think of it.

Just so you all know, the Next (maybe even Next next) Messi, was born in Bolton.

Maradona also played in an era when defenders were allowed to kick strikers for 90 minutes without so much as a yellow card.

Nope, He was born in chorley.

But by the time he plays pro, football will have imploded and there'll be fuck all money in the game.

We had 7 messi shirts at our under 7's training session last night!!!

City and United looking at 1 in particular!!!!

Have you not been in kid's football long Pablo? City and United look at literally thousands of kids. They may even take some of them to one of their sattelite centres of excellence, some of those may get to train on schoolboy terms. Very, very few of them will ever get beyond that stage.

I used to lose count of the kids who played with my son and were caught in the machine that was Manchester City or United. After less than 12 months they're usually back saying they didn't like it . . . which is code for I was told I wasn't what they were looking for.

did a fine stint for napoli too with their only 2 titles, 2 cups and a UEFA cup

so much so the napoli fans cheered on argentina against italy in the WC semis in 1990

what did pele win a club level? cock all

well, cock all in europe, where it counts

La Liga is like a hot and sunny sweaties league. Two good uns, some not so good uns and a couple of shit uns. Apart form the fact that one of the good;uns is skint that is.

Presume you didn't see the filth played off the park by Bilbao tonight then?

Loads get taken on, I know that Mr Patronising. Bolton have loads of them at our kids age on the books, but they are not that special to be honest.

We have 3 players that have been looked at, but 1 their has been a bit of excitement about, he doesnt know it, as he is to young yet. Some of the things he has done with the ball at 6/7 years old, has had people shaking their head.

You can also tell those that think they know the game. Kids will get taken into acad's etc, if they have something they can see, and that is the best thing for them, to see if that 'something' can he enhanced.

If the kids dont enjoy it fine, football at that age is about fun, but who is going to turn down elite coaching!?!

My son brings loads of football coaching leaflets home, and wants to do every one of them. He was playing 4 nights a week last summer, AND on satrday mornings. He just wants to play !

Bilbao, 20 points behind Barca, and 30 points behind Real Madrid. Commentators came up with that nugget of information, then were wondering how Ronaldo and Messi had scored over 100 goals this season. I suspect the two incidents are connected.

Just watching a documentary on itv4 about messi. I never saw pele play, just clips but I've watched maradona on telly and the same with messi. For me messi is the best player ever. Maradona won the world cup in mexico aged 26, after an average world cup in Spain in 1982. Messi had an average world cup in south africa but hes still only 24, and with him in the team, Argentina have got to be one of the favourites for the brazil world cup.

People say that maradona was better than messi because he did it playing against defenders intent on hacking him down, if messi played against the same teams in the 80s, those defenders, and the rest of the team, just wouldn't get anywhere near him to take him out. The pace that messi goes past people and changes direction is just incredible.

Messi has the skills to match pele and maradona but messi does it quicker and, for me, that makes him the greatest ever player, immaterial of whether he's done it at a world cup (yet).

Maradona also played in an era when defenders were allowed to kick strikers for 90 minutes without so much as a yellow card.

ahh happy days,
