Anyone who went to big games in the 80's pissed and without tickets knew chaos reigned and that was the chance to get in. Yeah it was irresponsible but it happened, part of the norm.

 

Its tough when you've played a part in killing your own, but sometimes you just have to hold you hands up and say 'yeah, we fucked that up a bit'.

You will find that only Liverpool fans DONT have this view.

 

I have spoke to my Uncle about this, who went all over watching Everton in the 70's and 80's, and he said so many occasions you could see something bad could happen, and on every single occasion, common sense always won, and Blues would help out other Blues.

 

Many teams took just as many fans as Liverpool away from home at that time, so I am not having that it could happen to anyone, becasue too many times, it seems to be THAT lot.

It happened to them, it was most likely to happen to them due to their following but it could have happened to anyone. It wouldn't have been us as we were in Division 3 like.
