April 23, 201214 yr Theres a micro brewery in Horwich called Blackedge, not seen there stuff yet in the pubs. Where on earth is that? I'm thinking near Dirtrod?
April 24, 201214 yr It's down the side of the Flea Pit isn't it? Near Halbro... Really? I'm thinking of having a word about their company name. I feel they have stolen my intellectual property!
April 24, 201214 yr Where on earth is that? I'm thinking near Dirtrod? Black-edge in Horwich, sounds proper dodgy, I tell thee. Does indeed. Sure you're not keeping something from us NB?!
April 24, 201214 yr Does indeed. Sure you're not keeping something from us NB?! Shall we see if there's any at Dave's gaff later before I decide whether to sue or not?
April 24, 201214 yr This isnt a pop btw Are there any decent boozers in Horwich? Like The Brewery Tap and Brewhouse in Astley Bridge? Places that properly look after their ale and frequented by drinkers And no fucking John Smiths too

April 24, 201214 yr Sorry meant The Brown Cow Not been in there for even longer, probably 5 years. Used to be in every week on a Thursday 'til stupid o'clock on a Friday morning!
April 24, 201214 yr Not been in there for even longer, probably 5 years. Used to be in every week on a Thursday 'til stupid o'clock on a Friday morning! We were Friday's. Is there even a clock in that place? It was the Bull for my father in the 70s. Which was nice seeing as where it was opposite.
April 24, 201214 yr As a real ale lover I'm looking forward to celebrating my 30th with a few pints if what's on at the Drunken Duck in Hawksead in a couple o week.
May 7, 201214 yr http://www.blackedgebrewery.co.uk/ Dave's got their Motueka Hop on at the Albert. Not that I'm supping today though.
May 7, 201214 yr I've just spent 2 days drinking like a bastard. The beer in the Albert is actually very good, he knows his stuff even though he's a red. It's not his fault that I asked for triple helpings of chillies on my pizza last night and am now suffering death by a thousand shits full of scalpels today. I'm ghastly. The smell is appalling.

When asking for silly things like that, do you not think of your bottom the next day?
May 7, 201214 yr When asking for silly things like that, do you not think of your bottom the next day? You know very well that in the moment, knowing I'll be heaving hot rocks through my nipsy the day after is the furthest thing from my mind. Just remembered that I ended up in the bridge. God.
May 7, 201214 yr Tried a pint of Lofthouse t'other night - not bad,not bad at all. Like the starter of this thread i've supped lager all my life, but i've just started enjoying a few pints of cask ale.It slides down very easily though and i often end up a dribbling mess after about 8 pints.
May 7, 201214 yr The ale in Barnstormers this season has been a pleasant surprise. If the Albert mentioned is the V&A on Lee Lane that's a great boozer. The Albert on Chorley New is a poor show.

So you never had the Walkers when Tony had the Ainsworth? Missed out there pal.

May 7, 201214 yr So you never had the Walkers when Tony had the Ainsworth? Missed out there pal. Ah Tony, miss that bloke - saw him the other week at a mates funeral, he looked really well. I supped a few pints of Tetleys cask in The Ains and used to try the occasional guest ale,but i supped thousands of pints fizzy Aussie type lager.

It's called the Albert, whoever thought to put the Victoria on is presumably some brewery marketing nobber. It'll always be the Albert. There's no Albert on the new, but there is a Victoria, which looks very grim. Bar stools taken outside when it's sunny, that type of place.
