Minutes silence at their game today.

Really, so long ago?

Horrible day and a very unpleasant atmosphere at Blackpool Mecca later that evening.

Fuck him, he started it

38 years seems an odd time for a miniute silence, 40 yes

My guess is that any match played on an anniversary would get a mention.

Like how two blokes go off on a tangent about their time in borstal

that fleetwood mick is mick creasy, features in the book the blackpool rock about the gangland scene in the town.

hes mad as a march hare, his step daughter is married to charlie adam....

i like how they say 'never forgive never forget' and spout bollocks about us permanently, yet are the lancashire eid and sikh champs when we go to town or vice versa. one or two on some of their sites do say to their credit they've never been able to handle our numbers

Boxing day game there in 85 or 86, Bolton were in their pub waiting for them when another Bolton mob turned up & attacked the pub.

there's simpletons everywhere

We have more than our designated quota.

i was in that pub at the time,Bolton lads everywhere.

Bizarrely, one of 'the muckers' wrote somewhere that they ambushed us getting off the train.......hmmmm,pretty good, considering trains didn't run on boxing day and we all went up on coaches,a couple from the usual places plus a couple from kearsley/stoneclough went up meeting at that pub which was attacked by bolton.

shithouses.the lot of the muckers, only good in numbers like at mighty bury and rochdale

I was there, travelled with the Tonge Moor lads so was a little closer that I wanted to be, those itk will figure out why. None of us realised at the time what was going on until we got picked up by ob cos we had been near the segregation fence. Kept us for 16hrs even though we hadn't seen anything.

Whichever way you look at it, the day was a dark day in the history of both sets of fans. This is why I can never take the likes of the ESL Yoof seriously.

Was only 8 at the time went to the game with me dad and uncle sat in the stand. Didn't realise what had gone on till we got the sunday papers. Was that the day alan waldron broke his leg?

Yes

The aftermath was not good. I thought Ritson broke his skull at that match must have had too much red vino

Thought he broke his leg in a friendly

it was a league game

didn't think it was the stabbing day

but i can't be sure

Definitely wasnt the stabbing game

Didn't David Cross fracture his skull against Blackpool also, or is my memory playing tricks?

Definitely wasnt the stabbing game

It was the stabbing game. Happened right in front of me. Only time I've been to that ground.
