Power Naps

Does having a quick 20 minutes shut eye make you a lazy bastard or is is an astute way of recharging your batteries?

Felt a bit tired for most of the day, a quick kip at half time during the Crawley, Pompey game and Im sorted now, hell I might even go and cycle over to Anglezarke.

Does anyone else have Power Naps?

Every day when I get home from work. 10 minutes, right as rain after & any shit from work forgotten.

Never used to nap at all as I'd usually wake up feeling worse.

... but over the last few months a 30 minute nap when I get home from work has become the norm. Is it an age thing / sign of getting old?

Revitalising, Darren.

The Vietnamese are well into them. When I've worked over there they told me they have them at lunch time with the philosophy that waking up it's like a new day psychologically.

I like that.

Power naps work

Scientific fact

Mark my words

I have a power nap every day about 3 for an hr or so, wake up ready for the evenings entertainment.

I have one most days when I get home from work. 15 to 20 minutes is usually enough and I feel totally refreshed afterwards.

That's not a power nap, that's a siesta

I agree with Daffyd.

A question for you both then: Do you sleep well anyway? When I say well, I mean 7 hours minimum straight through?

No.

I go to bed at some point usually between 2am and 3am, sleep reasonably soundly until 7am when I'm woken by my daughter.

Double post

Then I'd suggest master the art of normal sleep before you move on to power ones.

Major difference between siesta and a power nap.

how much time must elapse before a power nap becomes a proper nap??

I'm going to stick my neck out and say 30 minutes maximum is the rules. 15 to 20 for me.

In which case if you take your 20 minutes and add the hour for the clock going forward for Spain then it becomes a Siesta. Fácil !

15 mins is just a long blink!

is it obligatory to have a power wank before ones power nap?

or will the added power throw the timings all to cock and force the power nap into a normal nap?
