I'm not for the union thing, if football is a united sport then we should all be in it together, from the fans to the tea lady its a team sport so if one person is abused then all the team should be affected by it. It needs someone with some balls in the FA to say look enough is enough, any club found guilty of racially abusing players will be punished, and not by fines, but by games behind closed doors, docked points that sort of thing, fining a club the equivalent of a players weekly wages is nothing. hit them hard with TV/sponsorship money being limited , it wont stop in the foreseeable future, but it could gt better.

 

The union won't work , but a governing body to act along aside the FA who can influence on disciplinary procedures might.

How will a union change the fact there are folk from areas (i.e. Parts of South London and Serbia) where racism still exists? For every feral c*nt like Terry there's a Steve Wigley, who seemed to be butting everything in christendom in defence of his players...

fifa have combatted it a lot more than uefa, uefa have a panel looking for votes for the future so don't want to upset too many nations. Jim Boyce is the vice president at Fifa and he has been the one speaking up against it for a while urging blatter to do something about it, which to be fair he has across the globe, its uefa who are the big body who seem to want to cautiously deal with it.

 

The FA are the most nationally recognised footballing body in UEFA if they take a stand, and not accept what Uefa do , then the wheels might start to move. Talk of boycotting games in serbia would force their hand going off recent event.s

Rather than them simply saying they're not doing enough, maybe they can come out and say exactly what they think they should be doing and how they whould be doing it.

 

I think a lot of the issues are to do with the FA, and therefore by breaking away and forming their own union I fail to see how they will change anything.

 

I just think that a by moving away from a project that is supposed to unite everyone is going to only make things even more divided.

they can say they and red card to racism aren't doing enough, but they have no money, not much funding all they can do is raise awareness and aren't the FA top priority, i think the protesting players have targeted the wrong people.

Apparently not. Neither, for the record, is it sexist to have a union branch solely for homosexuals. I am a member of a union which actively supports both Black and Ethnic Minority workers and Gay workers.

 

Shudder to think what would happen if someone tried to create a white-only branch of the union.

 

I also see the Asian Elders' van around Bolton. Again, if someone was to have a White Indigenous Elders initiative, they'd be villified.
