For any locals/non locals interested there is a bonfire and firework display at Atherton Collieries tonight, there is a small fair and face painting for the kids. There is hot food i.e. black peas, hot dogs, pies etc and a fully licensed bar. This event gets biggerer and betterer every year.

 

Gates open at 6.30 - firework display 7,30

 

Admission is £3 for adults and £1.50 for kids

 

I'm on the gate so there will be a discount for large groups

It was indeed Athy, though I wasn't impressed by the bob hatted lout on the gate who charged me full price for one adult and three kids. Family ticket?.................

 

Fireworks went on for 10 minutes longer than usual though there were less decent bangs. Story of my life in Bent really.

 

Course I'll be there next year, they must've raked some well deserved cash in as it was bloody heaving! Couldn't get near t'peys let alone t'bar!
