My car has been deemed a write off from the other week when a silly fool drove into the back of me.

 

Bottom line is the engineers have valued my car at £1645. I have looked for like for like replacements same age, mileage etc etc and they are selling a £2000-2400.

 

We all know they will offer the bottom price as thats how they work but how do I get these fuckers to stump up more money for a like for like replacement?

Cut out any adverts relating to same kind of car, year price etc and send them to your insurance stating your refusal of offer. They will back down and offer you the correct money.

"I've located a like-for-like replacement, would you prefer to make payment direct?"

 

Worked for me.

Write to the insurance company, with examples of the price of an identical car (model, year, similar mileage), and ask them to improve their offer. If this fails then have a look here

This happened to me with Admiral. I insured the car and they said its book price was £1500 and it was insured for that much even though it only cost me £1000.

 

Crashed it 1 month later with only 1000miles extra on the clock. They asked what I expected "£1000" and offered me £250! The cunt from Admiral had found an older model with many more miles that was an ex write off for £250 so he said that was the value!!

 

Spent weeks going back and forth with links to auto trader before I agreed to settle at £800! My excess was £500 meaning I was left with £300 to replace the car.

 

Insurance folk are a set of cunts to a man! They may even be worse than teachers!

This is what they are doing to me.

 

Trying to give me a rock bottom price despite evidence opposing their valuation.

 

They have also sent older shitter models and one thats basically being sold as spares or repairs as evidence.

 

I'm not even being greedy in my valuation, it is no wonder people have 'injuries' its the only way to replace your car.

Don't know, I am just glad I got what I want with minimal hassle but I heard stories draggin on for months withthem offering a lot less than a vehicle value.
