Doing A Good Turn

The other week i decided to offer a young reprobate a chance to salvage his sorry life.

The young chap in question isn't the brightest lad in the class but works like a trojan. He's had problems at previous firms due to his limited education and problems with wreading and righting. He's been constantly bullied off former employers and employees alike, who've been calling him 'retard, idiot, spaz etc.'

I took the chance, knowing he was a good worker and had bags of ability thus offered him a trial period to prove himself.

To say i've been pleasantly surprised is a huge understatement. He's not been an ounce of trouble in the past month, and has worked his teds off.

He's says it's down to me being respectful and patient towards him, generally treating him like a human being and not abusing him.

I've been put in charge of the contract for maintenance on all of Liverpool Council's flat roofs and the lad in question has now been rewarded with a 12 month contract under my control.

He's buzzing with the news and it's nice to see a fellow Boltonian and loyal Wanderer given a chance and rise to the challenge.

It goes to show that some folk out there are utter cunts and bullies

I feel very good in myself and have faith in my judgement.

Just thought i'd share that with you,and if you're reading pal, well done and keep it up pal :hi:

cheers R,he's buzzing with it and all the lads with me have been fine with him. Like i say, there are some proper bullies and pisstakers out there. He's a Wanderer through and through and i'm made up to help him out.

Conversely, not all young lads are dicks, I have often misjudged young 'uns only to be proved wrong later

Does him mum do him a packed lunch of &1 sausage barms?

We have loads of young lads where I work and pretty much all of them are fucking bob on. It's nice to hear of young folk with a work ethic and positivity about their own life.

the lad in question was pretty depressed and fed up with the abuse when i offered him the work. He was very downbeat about his future and to be frank had a horrendous upbringing which affected his education hugely.

He'll now be going on a full apprenticeship and taught by yours truly. You could say his future's orange

ha,ha only just seen that. Dids' arse would go if i told him to climb a ladder or even worse had to work in Liverpool,i didn't how much a council estate the Pool was until i was awarded the maintenance contract off them. The people to be fair have all been superb, even commenting on my ''posh Bolton accent''............WTF !!!

Fair fucks Miami, good on you, and good luck to the lad.

If you need safety lines installing shout me btw.....

Funnily enough, heard a conversation in the pub on Tuesday. 3 lads I know at the end of the bar. "Well he's as numb as a piss stone, but give him a tool, point him in the right direction, and by the Christ he can graft."

i'll let you know pal,the firm i've got the contract from are absolutely snowed under with work. It's the busiest i've been since the boom time in the mid 80's. I'm meeting the company's main man on site on monday so will certainly put your name forward for any further work in your line, excuse the pun

it's true BCG. This lad i've took on endured endless grief off colleagues in the past but could totally burn them off at work. He snapped one or twice and need a calming influence to nurture and educate him.

Bizarrely,he's ended up under my guidance

nice one glad to hear it ,,there for the grace of god go a few of us well done mate
