Kirk St Moritz Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Bartley was younger than that and had a contract that he couldn't be tied to, although we did get compensation. The under-18s will be on academy contracts, 2 years with the option on a third year. Quote
Kirk St Moritz Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 thanks. wasn't sure how contracts worked at that level Quote
MalcolmW Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Full time? What date? Should I start looking for trains and hotels? Forest have been at home each round. They played one on a Tuesday and two on Wednesdays. Their first team are home tomorrow and Tuesday, then not till 5th March. I suspect that this will be arranged for 26th or 27th. Chelsea also reached QF tonight, beating Barnsley 3-0. Arsenal play Everton next Monday, and the remaining 4 fifth round matches are all on 26th or 27th. Quote
Casino Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Exciting times round the corner if we can get 3-4 of these lads in the 1st team. i reckon we should get a manager with a record of using youth products Quote
Guest bwfcdan Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Anyone fancy making the trip to Forest? I'm tempted... Quote
RUREADY2ROLL Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Anyone fancy making the trip to Forest? I'm tempted... Might do the final - where is it? Quote
bwfc87 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Think the Youth cup is a two leg final Quote
Horwich Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Went to forest last time we beat them... Quote
MalcolmW Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 (edited) Might do the final - where is it? Think the Youth cup is a two leg final Both semis and final are two legs. And Bolton will be home in first leg each time, as draw has already been made. Currently it is : SF1: Hull/Leicester//Liverpool/Leeds v Derby/ManCity//Chelsea SF2: NottmForest/Bolton v Arsenal/Everton//Norwich/Birmingham Final: winners SF2 v SF1 Edited February 15, 2013 by MalcolmW Quote
Gumbo Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Decision are usually made on A- pro B- 3rd year scholar C- bombed In march / April so players, if c can find other clubs or go to exit trials ! Of course some of the lads were offered Pre Christmas Quote
Casino Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 could some lads be playing in the semis and finals knowing theyre out? Quote
Casino Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 also do i have to give coyle some credit? Quote
Gumbo Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Well no decision would be made on the first years cas But... Very good question. The department arnt used to staying in the comp for so long. But thus far those figuring in the youth cup gave not been informed they are to be released Quote
Casino Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 No phew it does show, perhaps, why longer term. 'relegating' phillips back to the academy, was a decision that had to be made? when did we last go this far i definitely don't remember such a good run Quote
Gumbo Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 It's funny how certain coaches are being 'relegated' back to the academy set up. Or is that the coaches choice?... Phillips- bolton Eyres & lillis- Huddersfield Philliskirk - Oldham To name a recent few! Quote
Garrp Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Theres to much positivity on this thread wheres anewman when you need him Quote

THunter Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 when did we last go this far Couple of years ago I think. Before that it was back in the seventies. Quote
anewman Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Theres to much positivity on this thread wheres anewman when you need him why waste money on youth when none will ever play first team? should buy some decent players with the money instead of spunking it on an academy Quote
Gumbo Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Some folk on her often spunk on the academy... Quote

Estupendo Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 That was an excellent £5 spent. Tbh Bolton were far smarter than spurs. Great goals from Walker and Lester. Should have scored from the shot that hit the post and 2 other clear cut chances. Fancy are chances to get to the final at least in this. Tottungham singing group kept going for The whole game being wound up by a group of 20 or so 12 to 15 year olds supporting us? Not Sure why but maybe a probably a wind up as they were all north london lads. Approx 50 whites there, half relatives, friends of the team out of a crowd of 2000'sh. That was a good game. Off to forest tomorrow, any possibility of a similar show? Quote
