Cricket

Ok season starts properly for most local league sides this weekend,

Who we playing for, who we watching, title hopes?

Long sunshine drinking days?

Playing fir Daisy me, top half finish would be nice plus a little run in the lancs knockout, but we have Garstang away!

We're getting battered here, but at least the future's bright.

Just spotted a 16 year old from Bolton top scored for the England under 19s today

http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/593704.html

Played all his junior cricket in the Bolton league. Said he'll play for England when he was 11 and I still think he will now.

Cheating Hampshire cunts.my plans for Finals day went for a shit but Hotel booked for Forest and got match ticket, every cloud eh

Lostock 2s with a great effort against a top of the table and unbeaten Whalley Range.

If catches had stuck we'd have won comfortably instead of them catching our 149 with 3 wickets and 3 overs remaining.

Spaz with a 5fer.

Turns out those pesky asians from Whalley Range fielded two ineligible players against us.  Who'd have thunk it.

Decision reversed, Lostock 2s win and move up to the lofty heights of 3rd from bottom :D

I bet they looked like who they were pretending to be.

I bet they looked like who they were pretending to be.

Sickening.

TBF, it was our scorer who spotted them as he'd watched them play aginst our 1sts the day before.

I'd have had no idea!

Oh and not that I'm tarring anyone with any brushes but playing Bolton CC is always interesting.  I once asked one of their team what his name was and he went and asked the captain the same question.

Surely that turns your 5fer into a 3fer - no Butts no ifs?

Very good Malcolm. Very good :D

Any of you Howfen lot attending the 20/20 against us next Tuesday

Cracking win for Lostock 2s over SW Mcr yesterday gaining revenge after being cheated out of victory at their place.  Skittled them out for 74 as they chased 152.

Spaz with 3 wickets to take him to 32 for the season so far.

Bradshaw 2nds beat Eagley yesterday.  Skipper cracked 67 (ish) but was skittled then John Legg, his partner, was in danger of running out of partners. Loads of youngsters in Bradshaw's team. The eagley bowler was a wide ball short of a hat trick. Last batter came in and defended well when on strike allowing Legg to knock up the winning runs.

We got ten overs in on Saturday SJM was 10 not out

20/20 v Howfen is now next Tuesday

Looking like Newton Heath may be biting the dust at the end of the season.  'Tis a real shame.

Shit-hole area, shit-hole ground and facilities ... but a top bunch of lads who just want to play cricket.

Best of luck to them.

Their match reports will be missed. http://newtonheath.play-cricket.com/content/view.asp?id=10420623&cid=218

Fellas like this mon are what makes AMATUER cricket and other sports so special. Without them, the mercenaries that move around for a few bob would have nowhere to play.

I don't know too much avout the plight of NH and the MDCA but I would rather play there than say Bamford Fieldhouse who have this week been rejected from joining the Bolton League.

Amen to that.
