During his 39 fight pro career, Amir Khan has walked to the ring to face either a current or former world champion, 11 times.

He has officially beaten 7 of them.

Through 42 fights, Kell Brook has done that 4 times, winning 2 of them.

He's a munich traitor to his religion, with a golddigga yank bride who he fucks around behind her back with white slags.

Allegedly.

A real boltonian would be sick and go on a kill crazy rampage, they would not hug munich bastards.

I always find the contrast in public opinion between Khan and English treasure Ricky Hatton quite amusing.

Both had similar paths, got twatted by the absolute elite but did brilliant on the level below.

One has a poppadom chin and is widely condemned for sending wanking vidoes and driving his car fast. The other is a national hero despite living a life of drugs, ale and adultery.

If Hatton and Khan had both committed the EXACT same indiscretions out of the ring then Hatton would still be by FAR the more popular of the two. Factamundo.

Khan isn’t in the same league as Hatton

Khan isn’t very likeable at least imo. Nothing to do with his race or religion. He’s just a bit of a bellend.
Same with Brook but that’s not pulled up why people don’t like him other than he’s a cock as well.

Can’t now be calling Hatton and then lauding Tyson Fury and others for their drug problems

Im not calling him. Im saying the public opinion differs because khan is a muslim.

Absolute fact.

Maybe not in your case, but plenty others.

He must have been pretty likable to headline in the US btw.

Prince Naseem is Muslim, how was he perceived? Genuine question because all I really remember was his ability and his amazing ring walks 😂

Pre-9/11 when nobody really gave a fuck if someone was a Muslim.

What about Khabib in UFC or Roy Jones Jr, or Bernard Hopkins or Danny Williams?

So the criteria of why he’s not liked is a post 9/11 Pakistani Muslim is why he’s not liked?

Not because he’s a bit of a bellend?

It’s a strange sport is boxing. Without a doubt over the past 30 years there have been better fighters than both Khan and Hatton yet had nothing like the fan base. Hatton had a big fan base almost straight away, he was a top amateur and was well promoted early doors he was also the likeable lad, loved a beer, loved football etc. Khan was in the spotlight after the olympics and obviously attracted a massive muslim fan base (not only muslims). A lot of how boxing Careers pan out depends on how they are promoted and handled early doors.

That's certainly part of it. And yes, he is a bit of a bellend. I sat behind him once on a flight to Chicago in 2010ish. We had a chat about Wanderers, and he seemed like a really nice lad.

At the very beginning of his career some who I know wanted him to lose. When asked it was normally a slightly vague "ah  he's too cocky" ramble. It is a very rare trait too have in the boxing world after all.

Apparently it was Eddie Hearn who told him to go on I’m a celebrity to enhance his personal image. He reckons he’s been managed badly his entire career

Think Khan was managed superbly, gave him his gateway to mega fights in the US.

Thats Brooks main beef, he didnt get half the chances Khan did.

He was. Most British fighters would kill for his career path and US presence he had.

Brook fought GGG Spence and Crawford and got his eye blackened in every one. Not Khans fault. The lispy Keith lemon sounding twat.
