Underpants Posted March 9, 2024 Posted March 9, 2024 (edited) I expected Joshua to win and he did. I hope this puts an end to these circus's. Ngannou shouldn't even be in a ring at this level. This farce will put Joshua in a good position to fight the winner of the Fury/Usyk fight. That in itself is a joke. Joshua is a modern day version of Frank Bruno. He's not even in the UFC, they released him, he's with PFL under a million pound contract. Anyway, it was a farce, Joshua, chucked straight punches through his guard, no setup or anything. Can't have people saying he's back, he literally hit a punch a bag Quote
gonzo Posted March 9, 2024 Author Posted March 9, 2024 The biggest and worst story of the night was Ball not winning. Absolute corruption. He won 8 rounds on the bounce, scored 2 knock downs and didn't let up once in all out attack. Bent as fuck. Quote

To understand which fighting style works best when they fight under the same rule set. And it became pretty obvious quite quickly that boxers didn't fair very well. It was the wrestlers, the grapplers and the Ju Jitsu fighters that invariably came out on top. The MMA fighters have evolved now to the point where they can do a bit of everything. But most of the successful ones tend to have a solid ground game. I know who I'd be backing if Jon Jones or Tom Aspinall fought Tyson Fury or AJ if it wasn't boxing rules. I'd be very surprised if the boxer made it through one round. And I enjoy both sports...... Quote

Site Supporter Winchester White Posted April 4, 2024 Site Supporter Posted April 4, 2024 When are we going to get a decent fight? I remember back when I was in my teens and twenties we had loads of decent fights with Benn, Eubank, Collins, Naz, Calzaghe, Khan, Hatton, Lewis, etc Thats just Brits, there were loads of US and other fighters that were good. Seems things have really gone shite? Or maybe my interest isn't the same with PPV and no boxing on the Beeb and ITV anymore? Quote
kent_white Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Anyone see UFC 300 on Saturday? Gaethje vs Holloway in a fight for the ages. Absolutely superb stuff and one of the most iconic knockouts you'll ever see in sports as far as I'm concerned. The whole room I was in were on their feet. And the Perreira doing his cold as ice thing. Leaving boxing for dead these lads! 👏👏👏 Quote
