Non title fight by the sounds of it, so Smith is just being used as a bum for Ward's comeback. Can't really see why any better fighters would want to go near Ward. Very likely to get beat for poor money in a dull fight. Not exactly dynamite for the career.

Yeah it's exactly this. Smith has done well really considering he was an unimpressive British champ, seemed to be going nowhere. He's hung in and got his rewards. Even if they add up to, in reality, a few whoopings. He's no doubt made a few quid for his trouble.

 

Ward is such a curious case isn't he.

Never really understood why SKY love him so much to be honest. Doesn't have a win on his record anything more than bog standard British level.

 

Fair play for his effort in the 24 rounds with AA but this is a hideous match.
