September 29, 201312 yr If you play 4-4-2 you need to have the right midfielders. AT LEAST one of them has to be a box-to-box, not a defensive (like Spearing and Medo) and not an attacking (like Pratley and M. Davies). We have Holden who can play box-to-box, but he's not available... ever... As such, Dougie is trying to play a system that fits our midfielders, as that is the position where the game is won and lost. We play 4-4-2, we get destroyed in midfield. I think the fact that we're losing games by the odd goal whilst limiting the opposition to a few shots (like at Brighton) suggests that the outfield system isn't the problem. Not that I'm blaming Bogdan either. His mistake against Yeovil was a freak one that I doubt we'll ever see him make again.

September 29, 201312 yr So you're saying Ngog should have stayed on and Beckford brought on alongside him. I'd have played up front myself and had a better idea of when I was offside than Ngog did. We'd have been better off with him off the pitch than on it. My earlier point was we got rid of 2 strikers on loan without bringing one more in therefore Davies got injured and we then have 2 go with the only 2 experienced strikers we have and that's poor management or planning.
