December 2, 201312 yr Anyone thinking of getting this train on a Saturday night between now and Christmas you may want to make alternative plans. I can honestly say this was, without doubt, the worst train journey I have ever been on. In this day and age of health and safety, how they are allowed to cram so many people onto a train is mind boggling. Although I didn't see any, I'd be very surprised if there weren't people passing out. Had a sardine been on that train it would've complained at the lack of space. Some lucky lady had the pleasurable experience of my armpit in her face for a good 45 minutes.
December 2, 201312 yr It's not just the 11.15PM train, to be fair, it's most of the Piccadilly trains. Be smart and catch the Victoria one.

December 2, 201312 yr Author I can only assume Saturday night was the 'perfect storm' of egg chasers, Christmas shoppers and greasy, smelly bastards who'd just been to some heavy metal concert at the Nynex. Regardless though, I've never seen a train, even at rush hour, anywhere near as manic as that was.
December 2, 201312 yr The girlfriends sister was lucky / unlucky enough to get on it Apparently the police had to be called on to the platform before the train pulled in as their were twice as many people at least for the meagre 2 caridges that pulled in for the last train back. It's pathetic at this day in age that 1- the last train back from Manchester is at this time 2- it only has 2 caridges
December 2, 201312 yr I thought there was a later one. I'm in Manchester to watch a gig at the Apollo on the 13th - what's the best way to get from Picc to the venue and then back home? How much is a taxi nowadays from Manchester to Bolton?
December 2, 201312 yr The Apollo is 5 minutes walk from Piccadilly. 13th is a Friday, it's our Xmas do, ergo the trains might be fucked. You might manage to get on, but stand no chance at Oxford Rd or Deansgate. No. 8 bus or £40.
December 2, 201312 yr Is it? I don't know why I've always thought its longer. So, 11.15 it is then; sounds grim.
December 2, 201312 yr Author How much is a taxi nowadays from Manchester to Bolton? If you get Metro to come and pick you up it'll just the usual, boss.
December 2, 201312 yr Innit. Just checked and says there is a train a quarter past twelve (but then nothing until 5 in the morning)
December 2, 201312 yr I got the Victoria to Chorley on Friday about 3:30pm and it was the same fucking joke then Saturday morning attempted to get the Chorley to Manc. There was fuck all room on the platform is was that busy. 4 trains came and went without any fucker getting on. Ended up having to get a fucking taxi what a load of shite Thank fuck im back in London
December 2, 201312 yr Just wait until it's 6 trains an hour. They are just going to sail straight through Bolton.
December 2, 201312 yr Likely be on that 1115 Victoria train on 13th after Courteeners. It is always grim but with Christmas do's and gigs thrown in, worse than ever. Could be tempted with tram and taxi, but that will be rammed too.....
December 2, 201312 yr Last train from Victoria on a Sunday is 10pm even if there's an event on at the arena.
December 2, 201312 yr We got to Victoria at 7-00pm to get the tram back to Whitefield, the platform was full and a bloke said that the previous 5 trams had all been full when they got to Victoria. Got the tram the opposite way to Piccadilly which seemed like a good idea, got on the tram easy enough but could not get off a Whitefield as there were so many fucking people crammed in. Fuck knows what the later ones were like.
December 2, 201312 yr It's always been bad, I try to avoid at all costs. I really don't know why they can't lay on a couple more carriages. It's always a bit of a hostile atmosphere, too many pissed up knobs on it.
December 2, 201312 yr Innit. Just checked and says there is a train a quarter past twelve (but then nothing until 5 in the morning) Thats the airport train, stops at Picc and then Bolton As someone else says, its a joke there's not later trains. If Manchester thinks of itself as a city? Can anyone imagine this happening somewhere like Germany?

Can anyone imagine this happening somewhere like Germany? You're right, it's a joke. Even the metrolink which shirley should be running until daft o'clock shuts down stupidly early. The last one to Bury is at half past fucking ten.
