Do a regular early start on Friday my boss drove the other week and twice we were woken up by the rumble strips.

Week after we missed the junction for his house but that was because we were talking about pies.

Was a fella who did it after one of the Ipswich away play off games

He and his son died IIRC

RIP

Coming back from an away game and a mate who was driving was hitting every traffic cone on this stretch of the M Way while asleep.

Only once as far as I know, and that was when Sra. Kerr locked me out. Car was parked up mind.

Did it on the way back from a night shift in Lancaster.

Drifted off on the inside land and woke bouncing around on the rough bit before the barrier.

Not a thing on the road luckily.

Once. Shit meself. Stepfather owned Westhoughton greyhound track so, when he and me mam came to visit us in Wollongong, we had a big day out on the punt planned. Randwick races - chinese feast at the 9 dragons is Sydneys Chinatown then drive all the way to Nowra dogs on the South Coast.

Nodded off about 5kms before Nowra but luckily the stepfather was watching me from the front passenger seat and gave me an almighty nudge and shouted my name.

With the long distances in Oz, they have signs everywhere with slogans like 'Take 5 and revive' etc. Those signs now have my respect.

You must have done it on the way back from Munich traf? Is my mind playing tricks wasn't there a dead cow in the middle of the dual carriageway coming back

Was it a cow? I can't quite remember, but there was something.

Not sure if it was a cow, but remember seeing something/someone dead in the carriageway after the Munich (might have been Madrid?) game covered with one of those tinfoil sheet things.

Did it on the outside lane on the A1(M) coming back from Newcastle a few years back, reaction was to swerve back into the motorway over 2 lanes - fuck knows how I didn't cause a pile up.

When I worked at Manchester Airport. Started shift at 4am, finished at 2pm. Was coming over Barton Bridge. Absolutely shit a brick when I realised!
