February 20, 201412 yr Shows total disrespect for their heritage if they change the name for sponsorship. Cant see the fans being happy.

February 20, 201412 yr Shows total disrespect for their heritage if they change the name for sponsorship. Cant see the fans being happy. They're divided on it Ones I know who have been watching them for years i.e before they moved to the KC are generally against it Those that have jumped on the bandwagon since moving to the KC or since they got in the premier league think as its his club he can do what wants
February 20, 201412 yr I'm with him, you want to say how the club is run; put some of your own money in. Edited February 20, 201412 yr by Carlos
February 20, 201412 yr Is he not doing this to increase revenue, therefore making the club more self-sufficient ... which can only be a good thing for the club?

February 20, 201412 yr It's easy to stick up for him as we ain't hull fans if someone was to rename us bolton trotters or something I'm sure none of us would be happy That said How many would stop going? I wouldn't, unless they doubled ticket prices The gay badge never stopped me either
February 20, 201412 yr If we had a bloke offer to come in, pump millions into not only our football club, but also numerous local enterprises, would we accept a name change? He doesn't strike me as someone who is wanting to change the name for any egotistical reasons, he's doing it for the good of the club. He's not removing "Hull" from the name, he's not changing the colour of the strip, and he's not standing there grinning like a Bond baddie with his football shirt tucked into his trousers. I'd welcome someone like him if we needed a new owner. No doubt some would be happier with us languishing in the bottom tier of the football league though, because at least we'd still be officially called Bolton Wanderers.
February 20, 201412 yr Exactly, he's not moving the club or taking Hull out of the name. You can still sing City, or Wanderers, and watch the game from the bar. What's the fucking big deal?
February 20, 201412 yr He does want to move the club out of the city because the council won't sell him the ground and all the surrounding land for next to nowt
February 20, 201412 yr He sounds like a dick, but so do Ull fans. Not sure who's right. Edited February 20, 201412 yr by tomski

February 20, 201412 yr Presumably, if the name change to Tigers is to get a sponsorship deal, the new sponsor is going to be Frosties. Can't readily think of any other tiger-based companies. Unless the Tamil Tigers are going to have a resurgence.
