Remember seeing a bloke I knew just before kick off for the Stoke semi, absolutely battered he was and I was thinking then that the daft sod wouldn't remember anything of the game ....

That square in Guimares, fell asleep in a chair with my ticket on my lap.

Woke up to find an egg cracked over me, ticket gone and i was the only one in the square, and it had gone dark.

Managed to stagger to the ground, and bought another ticket for the away end, only charged about a quid.

Got in the ground and fell asleep again, only to be woken by cheers for Vaz Te's goal.

Bono / Big O saved me that day by sending me off to get something to eat with a few others. €1 a pint for Superbock in the sun was very dangerous. I remember going into one of the bars on the square to use the bog and some dirty bastard had done a full log in the urinal.

You'd had a couple of gallons to be fair.

I got home fed up one evening. My old man asked what was up. I said we threw it away. He pointed out we won 3-1. Widnes and mr h have a lot to answer for

That is still one of my favourite memories of you. Not helped by me mocking you in a scouse accent ha ha ha ha

I seem to recall Jules Darby checking me and Widnes into a hotel as we could no longer stand up after Sunderland at home a few years back

Haha
