Not from me, well until I go to Tesco

The Sun makes up story that PG goes to Thailand as it has a space to fill on inside page.

Says Gartside is off to Thailand to meet consortium, he will be looking for reassurances of what role him and Lennon have to play going forward. News of the takeover has come as a shock to Lennon.

Bolton Wontons FC.

Hmm gathering momentum this - worrying

Why is is worrying? - it might be a good thing for the club.

As things stand we're £160M+ in debt, you can't think that's a good thing.

Anyway, I'm sure Anewman will be delighted that if there is a takeover, that his mate Phil is looking to ensure he retains a job

looking at this with a bit of caution, but excitement at the same time. Could be brilliant for us.

How bad could it really be?

We aren't really in a position to lose anything at the moment as we are skint and pretty shit.

Not like anybody would buy us just to make money

If Eddie will take £40m we're not £160m in debt in reality worrying in the context of Blackburn Cardiff Pompey Leeds if it's a Southampton or Bournemouth or City then great

It worries me. We finally have a bit of stability, we need to maintain that in our bid to stay up. Last thing we need now is new owners upsetting the apple cart. How many times have foreign owners come in and sacked or irritated the manager in charge and caused mayhem? At the end of the season is a different matter. Obviously Eddie just wants to sell whenever he can and we can't change it. But as a fan I feel this is more likely to be a disaster than be something good at this stage.

PG would have been rubbing his hands when thur rumour came out

Perfect excuse to go to Bangkok and smash a load of brasses

I just get the whiff of Lenny gets potted in comes Sven playing thailands "ronaldo" away at Rotherham - I'm not a pessimist at all but name me one far eastern lead takeover that's worked and a syndicate gives me worries too more parts to go wrong or people to pull the plug if it goes tits up

Hypothetically speaking, if ED was to accept this £40,000,000 offer, would we then have a clean slate or would we still be £120,000,000 up the shitter - although now in debt to somebody who no longer owns the club?

We love you long time we do...we love you long time we do...

Lager, G&T and Baileys chasers for pre match drinks then.

Must admit that crossed my mind. ????

Perhaps I'm old fashioned but I don't really like the idea of us chasing the foreign money. Just because I don't see how someone in Thailand will really care about Bolton Wanderers. Not if things aren't going well. You can say a lot of bad stuff about Eddie and Phil, but they attend the matches and are Bolton Wanderers fans. I don't think they'd do anything crazy and would never let the club become a Leeds or risk going out of business.

Why would a foreign owner want a football club, near the bottom of the championship? I mean it is different when you're top half of the premiership, you pretty much need the money to challenge and owners get exposure and have their own club to play with and enjoy. I can see in that scenario why clubs often change hands. But we're hardly likely to become massively profitable any time soon. So financially, the basic running of a football club is not a big gain. Reputation won't change much by owning us. This only leads me to motives that probably aren't in the best interests of our football club.
